Question:	Can this be used in a grill
Answer:	I just used it in my grill. you have to watch the temp of the grill. The black insulator on the probe dissolved from the heat. The probe is supposed to be good for 750 deg. My grill thermometer read about 500 deg. It could have been hotter.

Answer:	You should calibrate any thermometer but if you are getting weird readings try changing the battery. Acurite recommends a basic alkaline not a heavy duty. This worked for mine.
Question:	Anyone have experience cleaning the probe/cord in the dishwasher
Answer:	No, I would not submerge it in water. If any moisture get within the probe or the jack connection would cause oxidation in the electrical connection creating false readings from the probe. These two connectors are the weakest part of the unit.
Question:	Is the timer magnetic? We have no counter space on which to rest it, but if it's magnetic, we could affix it to the oven door

Answer:	Cord by itself is 34 inches. Plug on one end and probe on other end makes it a little longer.Be careful placing the probe in the meat. It is too easy to position it wrong and get erroneous reading.

Question:	Do you leave the probe in the meat the whole time it is cooking? Wouldn't the end of the probe melt? I've never used one before
Answer:	Yes, you leave the probe in the meat while it is cooking without any danger of it melting.I bought three of these; one for myself, two as gifts.Two failed immediately, one lasted two weekends. Nothing to do with the probe or batteries. The readout went blank.Personally, I would shop elsewhere.
Question:	Is the probe waterproof and therefore suitable for sous vide cooking
Answer:	I don't think this probe was designed for that type of cooking. I use it for internal temperature of the roast on a grill. I am careful that the wire back to the base does not contact any hot surface. The probe itself can be washed, and therefore withstand water. Good luck if you try it. I'll stick to the conventional ways of using this temperature probe.

Question:	Does the HIGH/LOW reset automatically? I need one that doesn't reset until I reset it
Answer:	It uses three 12 hour time blocks (36 total hours) per the 7/19/16 response and automatically resets. This screws up being able to determine the 24 hour hi-lo I was used to with another model. I much prefer the one that auto resets every 24 hours from battery insertion. On the latter, by inserting the batteries at midnight, a daily hi-lo was always available. With the 36 hour look-back this daily Hi-Lo feature is totally useless IMO.

Answer:	You might want to check out my review of this product (written 11/17/15). I bought 3 of these, compared them to each other for accuracy in temp and humidity and gave detailed results. Overall summary is, 2 of the units were pretty good with both humidity & temp accuracy (most likely acceptable for most people's use), the 3rd monitor was not. It's a crap shoot as far as getting one that's in the satisfactory range of accuracy for both readings, I think.

Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.
Question:	Will this unit handle winter weather
Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. AcuRite's Iris high-precision PRO+ (5-in-1) Weather Sensor accurately measures five different outdoor conditions including temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction and rain. It features two solar panels to allow the sensor's solar-powered internal aspirating fan to run more frequently. The fan improves airflow to ensure highly accurate ambient temperature readings. Question:	Is there a way to upload data wirelessly, via a wifi link, to weather underground, for instance
Answer:	I have a Raspberry PI running weewx that allows me to send data to Weather Underground. My "indoor" display has a USB connector that I cable up to the Raspberry PI, and the PI transfers the data via wifi to my wireless router and then over the Internet to Weather Underground. Weewx *might* have options to send to other weather services but I'm not sure. Since weewx is written in Python it may also run on other hardware besides the PI but again I'm not sure if that is the case.
Question:	what is difference between model 0614 and
Answer:	Hello fitz, Model 06014 is only the 5in1 sensor. This does not come with a display to monitor the station. Model 01512 has both a display and the 5in1 sensor. Model 01512 will come with a single solar panel on the sensor and 06014 is a dual PRO+ sensor. A PRO+ is recommended in areas that are excessively sunny to provide more power to the aspirating fan on the inside of the sensor. Answer:	The unit is the thermometer....it is self contained ....lightning detector can be put remote location...NOT very accurate....wish I hadnt bought this....customer service stinks

Question:	Yesterday’s lightning numbers still show on the console display nearly 24 hours after the lightning stopped. Is this the way it’s supposed to work

Question:	Is there a way to get a replacement screen for this unit? The one I got, the screen just stopped working one day
Answer:	My display froze on the startup screen and would not advance after two years. Tried rebooting and same problem. I chatted with support and learned there is no way to reset the display screen. Cheap electronics for a unit at this price. AcuRite knows this is a problem with several others complaining of the issue. Their only solution was for me to spend another $100 and buy a replacement unit. This is a known issue with the display freezing and not advancing beyond the splash screen.

If this display loses power, set the date and time again and the display should retrieve your historical data.
