Answer:	There are two tabs built in to the case to hang on nails or screws or whatever. I have two nails holding in place even with a pretty strong wind. Hasn't moved yet.

Question:	Are the birds on the thermometer done in relief spark of a resin body thermometer
Answer:	Sort of -- then again, sort of not! Look; the thermometer is looking at person A. Your phone, will record that. Now, close the app on your phone. Open the app on another phone and use the thermometer to read that person's temp. So, one person could record the temeperature of five members of the family. Or five family members could record the temperature of one person. The point is that the app will record the temperature being read by the one thermometer. I suspect that the thermometer will communicate with only ONE phone/app at a time. So, if Daddy wants to know, he can start the app on his phone and take a reading. Then he turns the app off and Mommy starts the app on her phone and takes a reading. You aren't going to be broadcasting the temperature throughout the hospital. One at a time. Doesn't that make sense? The Bluetooth link is between the ONE thermometer and the ONE phone at a time.
Question:	Is the temperature adjustable
Answer:	NO! It sends out a very focused beam of light and measures the return. It is NON-CONTACT. You can experiment with it on various parts of your body. Anyplace there is blood flow, you can get a reading. Try pointing the beam at the inner surface of your elbow (where the nurse sticks the needle to draw blood). There are veins in there and the thermometer can read the temperature of the area around those blood vessels. Try it! (the Ante-cubital veins.) The easiest place to measure is the forehead or, with the furnished adapter, the middle ear. You should practice taking the temperature in the same place every time because what you want to notice is the change (if any) and since middle ear and forehead temps are typically different, you want to start in the easiest place and then stick with that for that person for that series of measurements.

Question:	Is the clock etc. backlit for reading time etc at night
Answer:	Whatever, the one I have is very dim and I can only view it by holding it. The thing says it has backlight, the manual says it, but it's not a feature. It also has a button "Signal" on the back that is not explained anywhere. It seems to work well enough, but it's impossible to read the screen in most places I have put it or hung it up.
Question:	How "weather resistant" is the sensor
Answer:	The manual suggests that the sensor can be out in the weather, as long as it isn't in the pouring rain. AcuRite sells a protective unit, here on Amazon, for a reasonable price to protect the sensor from full sun and rain and snow. Use Lithium batteries if you have it out in weather colder than 40 degrees (F). Right now it's 44 degrees on my patio in southern California.

Answer:	Both the sensor and the weather station have batteries. No alarm on this one. Maybe others have one. I love it. Mine was a present from my kids last Christmas. Answer:	Two separate units can operate together by selecting different channels for each but only one sensor is allowed per unit
Question:	Is the operational manual worth the paper it is written on. I bought a Meade weather station and could never figure out how to get the time to work
Answer:	the time is automatically set. It has what is called an inteli time (Not exactly sure that's what its called) feature that automatically sets the time date and daylight savings time. But if it does not work for some reason, the manual is easy to understand. I fact I have other products I got regarding weather are from acurite. Two stations and a weather radio, all easy to read manuals, including this station. Actually I did not even need to read the manual half the time. The station is easy enough to set up its essentially effortless. Unless you are trying to find a proper place for the sensor. But overall its easy understanding manual to read and easy to set up the station. I doubt you will have problems with the time. If you do I will be surprised, this station despite how cheap it is not bad. Mine has been surviving for 4 months in a tree outside my house, no issues. Also the indoor display is rather accurate. The station itself is actually designed to become more accurate the more you use it. So it may be inaccurate the first couple of days but after awhile it gets the forecast rather good.

Answer:	The maximum channel number is 8, so you could have 5 on one console and 3 on the other.
Question:	I have acurite model 782. it says it uses 433 mhz signal. this outdoor sensor says it uses 433 mhz. but, i cannot get it to work. anybody
Answer:	At the beginning all 5 of my sensors were very accurate in both temperature and humidity. One year later one outdoor sensor failed on humidity readings and was replaced under warranty. Both current outdoor sensors show too high humidity readings, the deviation is way more than 5%. Indoors sensors also show higher humidity levels than they should, but the deviation is not that big. I have a higher end temperature/humidity meter and use it for calibration. One year ago all my sensors and the meter, brought in one location, showed about the same readings. It is not the case anymore. I live in Pennsylvania, where humidity levels are often 100% or close to it. Most likely high humidity damages the sensors, even 60% indoors humidity affects them in a negative way. It is a pity, I really like this unit. Maybe I should get replacement sensors or stop relying on humidity readings...
Question:	Does this model have the abc channels? my current sensor has that and it no longer works
Answer:	The USB device that shows up is the bare STM32 (STM electronics microcontroller) "HID" device, which is what shows up on the "non-programming" USB port of an STM32. What this means is that they wrote the code for the device to interact with their windows software, and that means that there is an API, but it's closed source, so no idea if it can be reverse engineered. It's possible that someone with an oscilloscope could see what is happening during the handshake between the windows software and the device when you start the software... if someone were so inclined, and write something in python to accomplish the same handshake and API. Unless it's encrypted, but i doubt it, at this price point.

Question:	Does the thermometer separate from the base unit to facilitate changing of battery
Answer:	Yes. Remove the two small Phillips-head screws from either side of the "glass." Slide the working part of the unit out of the lower cover. There is a clear plastic strip that helps facilitate removal of the old battery. Replace with an L1154 coin cell. Reverse to reassemble.
Question:	How accurate is it? Is it affected by ambient indoor temperature through the window glass
Answer:	Fairly accurate. On double pane window maybe one degree off? Not bad for the price. This is my second one, had the first one for 4 years.

Answer:	morning It is not lighted and can be difficult to see during the day A small piece of light colored paper or something cut to size, behind it helps

Answer:	As long as the window is clean where you apply the suction cup the suction is strong. But if you have doubtsyou can tie thread around the stem of the suction cup make sure the string is long enough and close the window on the string( drape the string over the top of the window and close the window).

Answer:	It would be better indoors than outdoors, in my opinion. It is plastic so it is lightweight and we've had a difficult time keeping it steady on our deck during storms. Plus, the sun has faded the once colorful bird print. It provides accurate temperatures but it really isn't sturdy enough for outdoor use.

Answer:	Yes, you can mount it to wall with a small nail. There is a small opening in back to hang it and it has a hinge to open and sit it on a desk or counter.

Answer:	We use rechargeable batteries so we are not buying batteries (and contributing to waste) all that often. I find the outdoor unit battery life depends on the temps; if it is cold the battery life is a bit shorter, if warm the battery life is longer. Cannot accurately give a length of time for battery life outdoors as our rechargeable batteries have been used for over 2 years and are just not beginning to show wear and not holding their charge as long. Even rechargeable batteries need to be replaced eventually. Indoor battery life is excellent, several months to one year

Answer:	Celsius/Centigrade was/is important to me. I purchased this unit based on response from capt.tomUnfortunately, the ACURITE 00782 unit that I received does *NOT* support celsius. :(The AcuRite 00782 that I received does *NOT* support Centigrade :(
