Answer:	Well mine got knocked down by heavy wind and the clear cover cracked. I took it off and Im using it without the cover for now. Bought a cheaper basic one at Target for under 15 dollars and its nicer and better built. This one is off by 3 degrees.

Answer:	You're correct. It measures a little over 13 inches. I have mine hanging on some lattice in my patio which you shouldn't do as the sun shines on the back of it and gives a false reading. Should work fine if you place it on a stable surface.

Question:	Is the back flat so I can mount with double sided tape
Answer:	The outer edge is raised about 1/8th inch. in the center is a small ring, part of the plastic back, that is about a 1/4" high. both. In between is flat plastic. these raised areas could easily be filed down. However, there would still need to be a small nib that the thermometer dial is mounted to that sticks up approx 1/8". It could be filed down a small bit but not much. Please try and find a backside photo and think of my suggestions.

Answer:	Not certain since the packaging was discarded awhile ago but my bets are on China - very cheaply made.

Answer:	No! The metal "spring-like looking thing" is a bi-metal coil that actually makes the needle move. If the thermometer is in an area that is "static" in temperature- then the needle wouldn't/ shouldn't move. If you put the thermometer in the freezer and the needle doesn't go down, or the metal coil is scraping the face, then your unit is defective. I agree with the other reviewer. Not only is this unit "cheap" (in a bad way)- it's also not very accurate. I had to have the first one I received replaced, since the metal strip *wasn't* in the slot of the needle.

Answer:	As thermometers go, they are a simple device that, when produced, are accurate to +/- 1 degree. My automobile thermometer is nearly always identical to the LaCrosse round thermometer.

Answer:	Mine was also 10 degrees off. I used a small screwdriver (for a sewing machine) to turn the tiny brass screw in the center coil on the back of thermometer to adjust to correct temp. Hope this helps you.

Answer:	they do not appear to be adjustable, however i have had several over the years and all have been pretty accurate.

Answer:	One or both of yours is defective. I got the two-pack and I checked them and they both read the same no matter where I put them. I usually don't like to buy these things on line but the stores where I shop kept selling out before I could get there. Perhaps put them both in the fridge for an hour and then take of picture of them side by side showing the difference between the two and email that picture back to Amazon so that they know of your frustration.

Made by Chaney AcuRite, the thermometer sticks to any surface with a large, rubber suction on its metallic mount. The thermometer’s digital display conveys the temperature in easy-to-read 3/4-inch-high numerals. To offer illumination, a translucent pale green LCD frame borders the screen. The thermometer measures temperatures ranging from -4 to +158 degrees Fahrenheit to the tenth of a degree for precision; Celsius readings are not available with this item. Weather-resistant, the thermometer provides an on/off switch on its base underneath a weather-proof rubber seal. For the best results, install the thermometer out of direct sunlight. Moisten the suction before applying it to a clean window pane to ensure a strong bond. While the thermometer’s screen is not backlit, by painting or covering its backside white, the light from the frame may allow nighttime reading. A pre-installed L1154 cell battery powers the thermometer and can be replaced using a small Phillips screwdriver. Made in China, the thermometer is covered by a limited one-year warranty. Question:	Does the thermometer separate from the base unit to facilitate changing of battery
Answer:	Yes. Remove the two small Phillips-head screws from either side of the "glass." Slide the working part of the unit out of the lower cover. There is a clear plastic strip that helps facilitate removal of the old battery. Replace with an L1154 coin cell. Reverse to reassemble.
Question:	How accurate is it? Is it affected by ambient indoor temperature through the window glass
Answer:	Fairly accurate. On double pane window maybe one degree off? Not bad for the price. This is my second one, had the first one for 4 years.

Answer:	morning It is not lighted and can be difficult to see during the day A small piece of light colored paper or something cut to size, behind it helps
Question:	How strong is the suction? I live on the 7th floor
Answer:	As long as the window is clean where you apply the suction cup the suction is strong. But if you have doubtsyou can tie thread around the stem of the suction cup make sure the string is long enough and close the window on the string( drape the string over the top of the window and close the window).

Answer:	The sensor could read the freezer temperature. There are no alarms on it, though.

Question:	Does anyone have two of this in one home do they interfere with each other
Answer:	We have two sets, and yes, I'm afraid they do. I have one set upstairs and a sensor right outside my sliding door and that readout is registering fine. But one sensor is crossing over to one of the sensors downstairs. The other sensor is okay because it's in the room only a few feet away and the readout from it is fine. The downstairs unit has a sensor on our back porch and that readout is fine. But the other readout is registering from my sensor upstairs. So, yes it's confusing and we haven't figured out a way to keep them all separated....................
