Answer:	There are 5 bulbs in the thermometer with the degrees of 80, 76, 72, 68 and 64. The temperature is determined by the lowest floating bulb in the thermometer except for when all the bulbs sink, the temperature is over the highest bulb.
Question:	How full should I fill the water in the globe? (I lost my instructions
Answer:	Thank You! I have had this for several years now and the globe's water had evaporated. I too, lost the instructions. Use distilled water to prevent any hard water build up. I put the globe on its side with the glass tube upright sitting on a sponge. That way, the end bottom was lifted an 1/2 inch or so, and fed the the syringe tube to the bottom, that way, the air escaped and it was easy to fill. Took about 4 syringe fillings.

Answer:	Don't know for a fact, but Wikipedia refers to it as a mixture of water and ethanol. It would have to be a liquid that has a specific gravity coordinated with the liquid in the glass balls. Probably not save to drink!

Answer:	This item is shipped in a cardboard box with foam - i think it was double boxed and arrived unbroken. If you are talking about a wooden display box? No it does not come in a display box.

Answer:	It's just a thermometer and won't keep anything from freezing. I think it will work for you. I like being able to see it from 10± feet but I'm disappointed with accuracy in sunlight. (It says 90° when it's obviously 70°)

Unfortunately, the thermometer they sent me is consistently under-reporting the temp by 12 to 13 degrees. I tried everything I could think of to remedy the situation, but to no avail. I will be putting mine in the trash.

Answer:	You should never, ever put a thermometer in direct sunlight. You are then trying to measure the temperature of the sun, and you could ruin the thermometer. Outdoor temperature always refers to the temperature of the air, which can only be measured in in the shade.

Answer:	Yes. The thermometers are approximately 6.5mm in diameter. The normal thermometer adapter has an opening in the center of 7mm, with an O-ring so that they will accommodate thermometers between 6-7mm. The center hole is the same whether it is a 14/20, 19/22 or a 24/40 adapter.

Question:	What is the thickness measurement of the outdoor sensor? I live in an apartment and must place it between a window and a screen
Answer:	Here are the measurements: 3/4" (at 'hanger' end) to 5/8" thick (main body of sensor). it is 5" high and 1.5' wide. It would certainly fit between the window and the screen; however, my husband says you may not get a true temperature reading because it would pick up the heat from the window even though it is outside. Can you put it on the window sill on the outside of the screen? That is where I have ours and it works fine. Has not fallen off our brick window sill even though it is slightly slanted. Question:	does it work in very cold weather, negative degrees
Answer:	We live in Texas. It was fine for 4 years until our first cold front came in 2 weeks ago. We went down to 60 F when the sensor stopped working. I ordered a new sensor with amazon. That one stopped working after 3 days when the next cold front came in at 55 F. What a terrible waste of money. I'll be calling La Crosse on Monday.

Question:	Can i reset the comfort range? 79 degrees f is much too high to be comfortable imo
Answer:	Actually the temp does have a bearing on the comfort indicator as amorina states. It will need to be a minimum of 20 degrees and between 50 and 70% humidity to indicate as comfortable. I agree with you that this is a little high and perhaps 18 would be ok. Other sources state that 40% humidity is ideal so who knows!I think just go with what feels right. In answer to your question though unfortunately the comfort range can not be reset or altered.

Answer:	In China. I bought 3 of them, but don't find them useful. The setting for humid, dry, comfort is inaccurate for a relativity level reading in a home environment. At least in the Midwest region. They say 49% is dry when in fact it's too much for a home to carry, at least in the winter colder temps.
Question:	Has anyone had this long enough to know if the battery will last at least one year
Answer:	This is probably too late to be of use to the original poster, but maybe it will help someone. I purchased mine in March of '17 and the unit just died on me this past weekend, I was still using the original battery. I changed the battery and the thermometer was still dead, but that's less than $10 for nearly 2 years of service on a single battery.

Answer:	I am not sure. I keep mine in my garage, which is very close to outside temperatures. It is an electronic device and it will be affected by moisture. If it is protected from moisture it may be OK to use it outside.
Question:	Can this be taken outside just to know the temperature, but keep it indoors
Answer:	To get 100% accuracy it would have to be left outside for probably 10-15 minutes. But yeah I had it outside and it read the temperature
