This grid plate is made for the "standard" 18" diameter tank. I think if you tried to cut-it-down, you'd reduce the rigidity of the plate itself. There are rectangular brine tanks (11x11, or 15x17"), but this would NOT fit those either. Question:	In comments people say that they can play the chimes? How/where is that option to play/hear the chimes? Thank you
Answer:	All the necessary notes are in the chimes. It's by pure chance that they may hit the notes in the right order - or an act of God. My wife believes in the latter and seems to assemble the correct order in her mind when hearing the random notes. I guess if you were musically inclined you would be able to strike the chimes manually and play the tune. This may not sound like a serious answer, but my wife thinks it is.

Answer:	The 44" Corinthian will be slightly higher in pitch compared to the 50" Music of the Spheres chime (the diameter of the tubes on the 44" Corinthian is approximately 1 1/4", while the 50" Music of the Spheres chime is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter). A closer match tonally in the Corinthian Bells would be our 50" size, which uses the same size tubes as the MotS Alto chime. The Corinthian Bells are tuned to Major Pentatonic scales, while the MotS chimes have a couple of different tunings available. The Corinthian Bells are available in up to six color options, whereas the MotS chimes are only available in Black.
Question:	How do they hold up in outside non protected weather conditions
Answer:	These bells hold up great in non protected weather conditions. My parents have them at their house in Florida. They are located outside in the hot Florida sun and still look brand new after a year. The sound is incredible and well work the money

Answer:	They do not seem to bother the birds at all. This summer I found two different bird's nests in my ferns on the front porch - the chimes are there also - it is NOT a shrill sound the chimes make - but a very deep and soft sound. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, This wind chime is made of aluminum tubes and solid wood. The pipes are specially treated to prevent rust. Large deep tone wind chime can withstand rain and moisture and still the same as the new one.The strong rope makes the wind chimes more durable, avoid breaking or losing beauty. Happy shopping!!
Question:	What is the diameter of the pipes
Answer:	It is a stiff/tough plastic, but you might be able to flex it enough to overcome the 1" difference. You'd flex it "side-ways" then rotate it to fit the diameter of the brine tank. Since mine is in my brine tank currently, with salt covering it, I can't really take it out and check it for flexibility.
