Question:	Gave this to my daughter weeks ago and birds don't use it. Any suggestions on how to get birds to use this feeder? Dissappointing gift
Answer:	It takes awhile for the birds to get comfortable with the feeder. Be patient they will come. It says this in the instructions. Are there other factors that might scare the birds? The birds that use mine are used to my dogs coming in and out. The birds use the feeder early in the morning and late afternoon/evening.
Question:	Does this one have a mirrored film so the birds don't see you or the cat
Answer:	The birds are quickly getting used to me and our cats. I have cats everywhere, but they don’t even try to get the birds, they just relax and watch them. Maybe I have weird cats, haha! The birds can see me walking in the house, but they are learning I’m the one bringing their seed and are becoming less afraid. It’s amazing. I’m getting bluejays, cardinals, and a number of birds, all competing. Sometimes they’ll sing for me! Great product.
Question:	I received two window feeders for christmas gifts one had a rubber piece that was for the plastic feed tray the other didn't how do i get the rubber

Answer:	no food is included. i put black sunflower seeds in mine. attracts chickadees, goldfinches, tufted titmouse, and house finches (which tend to take over a bit). Cardinals eat that food, but they were too shy to get that close to my house

Answer:	Mine is small, so I've never seen more than 3 small birds (sparrows) on it. That's with one on top, 2 on feeder ledge. Sorry, don't know weight, but it really hangs onto the window. It's never come off without me forcing under the suction cups with my fingers to release suction.

Answer:	There are 3 ports
Question:	Hi-will the suction cups work on vinyl fencing
Answer:	Doubtful most vinyl fences have a textured surface, if your has a completely smooth surface then they should work fine
Question:	do the suction cups stay on the window strongly
Answer:	These suction cups are the trickiest part. Best is to clean window, then clean window with rubbing alcohol then run a little warm water on scurion cups and shake off. You need to be able to push the suction cup against the window and push all the air under. I ordered to do that you need to detach the suction cups from the feeder, lined up correctly, push the cup against the window without the feeder attached. Come back, wiggle the cup and if secure slide the feeder back on. This is not easy and if you I’ve the cup during this the cup is not well seated and it would have fallen anyway. If you try to attach the cup with the feeder attach I was not able to push the cup hard enough to get the air out and it all fell several times. It’s a tight fit sliding the frame onto the cup.
Question:	What are the instructions for creating the food for inside of this feeder? I purchased one but lost the instructions
Answer:	I use 1 cup of filtered water to 1/4 c granulated (white) sugar. Heat to a boil, to make sure that sugar is dissolved completely. Removed from heat; let cool. Fill hummingbird feeder. Make sure the change food every 3-5 days depending on how hot it is outside. You don't want to food to get moldy or rancid. When changing food, just rinse out the feeder with hot water (if needed), do not use soap. Soap can leave residue in the feeder.

Question:	How can i keep squirrels out of this
Answer:	Buy spicy bird food! Squirrels hate it and birds love it! Once the squirrels realize it's spicy they stay away.
Question:	is it hard to take completely off the window
Answer:	It’s doth very easy to both put it on and take it off the window. The tray is easily removed for refilling
Question:	Does this actually hold 4 cups of food? the tray looks super shallow compared to the one i have from nature's hangout
Answer:	Your question intrigued me. So I emptied my feeder and took a measuring cup, and added fresh seed. Result: the tray fits 2 cups level or 3 if you mound up the seed. You might be able to fit 4 cups when the tray is in the feeder and leverage some of the additional vertical holding surface of the feeder walls. I think it would be impractical, as even with waste-free hulled seeds, the birds leave seed skins and pick through their favorites, leaving seeds they don't like. I find it more practical to just put 1 cup in an empty feeder, and toss the uneaten seeds. Also, one other consideration, if you pile up the seed, after it rains the seed won't dry and it will go bad.
Question:	How do I fold the feeder back up? After unfolding the roof of the feeder, it doesn’t close easily and I don’t want to break it

Answer:	The Jewel Box Window Feeder works well! We have 3 fancier glass hummingbird stations around our house and this little plastic one seems to see the most action. It has too suction cups and a nice wraparound perch. It falls far less often than other suction cup window mounts I've tried. I have recently replaced the small suction cups with larger super strong suction cups (using small screws) and that helps our a lot. Question:	Will the bee guards work on this feeder
Answer:	I do not have bee guards on my feeder but I don't remember every having bee issues with this feeder, I have had issues in the past with other feeders. I have had more problems with ants and have put oil on the red portion of the feeder just be careful not to get any on the flowers. This year I haven't had any issues with bees or ants. You may have to clean the window area where you put the feeder because sometimes the juice spills and the sweetness can attract bees and ants. Hope this helps.

Answer:	No it won’t stick to siding. Has to be a window. It’s a seal tight because bird feeder with feed will have some weight to it.

Answer:	With the roof over the seed tray, the bird feeder keeps the seed dry through most weather. However, if the weather turns windy and the seed does get wet, the seed tray has holes in it to allow any water to drain through and the seed to dry out.

Answer:	The length of time it takes for the birds to find the feeders can vary on many factors, the largest being the environment that surrounds you. However, many things can be done to make the feeder something the birds find right away. First, locate a lower traffic window to start as the birds could be frightened by movement around the window. Secondly, try to mount the feeder on a window that has a nearby tree or safe haven the birds can fly back and forth to. Thirdly, birds like to be near a water source, so maybe put a birdbath or other water source near the feeders so they can access. Finally, try 2 or 3 different seeds to start as you determine the type of birds that frequent your area. I can say from our experience, we have lots of birds in our area so as soon as we put the feeders up, we had birds in the feeders within one day.
