Question:	Does the tray have holes in it so if water does get in it drips out? I'm concerned about the tray collecting water and moldy seeds
Answer:	This is probably the best feeder I have for keeping seeds from getting moldy. I use it for golden safflower and it dries out quickly if it gets wet or snowed on. The tray does have plenty of holes but is shallow so sometimes there is a small amount of build up of wet seed to wipe off but very easy to do.
Question:	I have a problem with morning doves eating the safflower seed that I put out for cardinals. Does anyone know if doves can sit on this feeder
Answer:	Carefully wire the mesh up so that the sitting area is shorter. I did this , little by little, until I got to the height that the morning dives could NOT get on the feeder. Cardinals and smaller birds can still easily feed. Also use safflower seed which eliminates alot of unwanted birds!
Question:	Is this supposed to be squirrel proof
Answer:	Or.....you can put a squirrel feeder for ears of corn nearby so the squirrels have some place to feed.
Question:	Does this feeder work with mixed bird seed? Or only with black oil sunflower seed
Answer:	No. I only use it for black oil sunflower seed. If you use mixed bird seed then the seed will all fall out from the large holes.Several times the squirrels will climb onto the top and tilt it but the sunflower seed will not fall out. Also, it really is squirrel-proof cause the squirrels can only get one seed at a time since the top locks.I love this feeder - it is the best for all birds!

Question:	What is cage height & diameter and wire spacing? I bought a small one with 1/4" spacing that's too small for peanuts and woodpeckers barely fit
Answer:	The feeder is about 12” tall and the bottom is about 15” circumference. I don’t know if the wire spacing is big enough for peanuts, depends on the size of the peanut. It is approximately 1/2” to 3/8” triangular opening. Hope this helps. Birds here live them!
Question:	Will hulled sunflower seeds stay inside the mesh
Answer:	I feed the birds a combination of seeds. They mostly stay inside the mesh... until they eventually come out the bottom tray. There, they are eaten. It works well.

Answer:	not regular bird feed, after purchasing this feeder it sat a while because no seeds would fit, suet was too messy to insert, so i saw a bag of sunflower seeds for 50 cents and they worked,

Answer:	I put Niger seeds in mine. The trick is to use a thick piece of paper, foil or plastic wrap around the cage first.

Answer:	I don’t think so.
Question:	Is this glass
Answer:	It is not glass, but I have had the feeder for a number of years and the heavy duty plastic has not cracked. I live in NC so it gets cold, but is usually in the 20s to 40s in the winter. The birds really like this feeder and empty if quickly. Because of the depth of the perches, it, mainly, attracts small birds.
Question:	What is the seed capacity
Answer:	It says 1.5 pounds which is about 3 or 4 cups. Our squirrels and chip monks figured it out in about a week and after that could empty it in half a day. Because we have an old house that is not completely rodent proof we quit using it, not wanting to encourage the pests.

Answer:	Sounds like it's broken. Ours gets emptied due to bird migration. Starlings are the worst. Ours works fine.

Question:	Would bluebirds fit through the cage holes, and are the feeder openings big enough for Bluebird nuggets and mealworms
Answer:	We have never seen Bluebirds at our feeder here in Florida, but I believe they are a little smaller than Cardinals. Both male and female Cardinals easily fit through the cage holes. The feeder openings are pretty large, big enough for Sunflower seeds. Don't know if it will work with Bluebird nuggets or mealworms as we have never used them. The feeder openings are about the same size as most feeders you can buy everywhere (i.e. the center portion).
Question:	Can someone verify that the grids measure no more than 1.5" squared
Answer:	The grids on mine measures almost exactly 1.5" squared. Although I wish the tube was a little bigger, I really like this feeder. The cover does a good job of keeping the rain off.

Answer:	The entire construction seems to be sturdy. Fittings are secured by substantial depth in the way parts are seated. And my baffle is regularly attacked by pigeons, and they are getting nowhere.

Answer:	Hello, the largest birds I have seen in the feeder are sparrows of several types. I don't think cardinals would fit. I bought it because pigeons have discovered my larger feeder. Besides eating all the seed quickly, they scare away the smaller birds. With this feeder, the chickadees, finches and sparrows get a chance to feed.

Answer:	Our mix is Sam's brand, a (40 pound bag), mostly sunflower seeds, even has broken peanuts and some fruit in the mix so sunflower seeds are no problem in ours. This feeder don't have to be removed from it's hanging place, just push the button to raise the roof and pour the seeds in. Ours is 1.5 years old and in Fla and is still fine.

Answer:	No. I only use it for black oil sunflower seed. If you use mixed bird seed then the seed will all fall out from the large holes.Several times the squirrels will climb onto the top and tilt it but the sunflower seed will not fall out. Also, it really is squirrel-proof cause the squirrels can only get one seed at a time since the top locks.I love this feeder - it is the best for all birds!

Question:	Does any use this for mealworms for Bluebirds
Answer:	I use it strictly for black sunflower seed. I don't think its really designed for mealworms.
Question:	What kind of bird seeds fit this? Sunflower seeds are to big . Wild bird mix falls through. Just got it
Answer:	I use Audobon wild bird mix to which I add black oil sunflower (smaller than regular striped sunflower), safflower, and white millet. Birds love this feeder and there is no seed loss. The tray holds all that comes out and the birds eat out of the tray as well as from the sides.
Question:	Would wet seeds dry in the feeder after rain
Answer:	We live in the desert SW and have never had a problem with wet seed. We have two of these feeders and use them for black oil sunflower seed. They are well made and durable but hold the mesh at the top of the feeder when you unscrew the top or you will twist it. Our birds are so accustomed to the feeders, they fuss at me when they get low! We also have squirrels that put on a circus act when stealing seed, but they do no damage!

Answer:	I think the holes are small for peanuts. It is the best sunflower feeder we have ever had.

Answer:	I don't think so. So far I have not seen that happen. I have used this bird feeder for several months since the fall, no problems. Blue Jay's feed very well from this feeder quite often. Birds love this one, it is used the most by all burds.
