Answer:	I just used mine yesterday for the first time and found the same thing. I came to the conclusion you cannot close it. I had way to much lump in it and the brackets were too hot to remove, so it burned with the lid up for a long, long time. I'll adjust how much lump I use. You cannot adjust your temp with it up, so you won't be able to get a good smoke, unless you use a cold smoke method first then the rotisserie. Suggest using a regular thermometer too. I destroyed my Meater one yesterday to due to the heat

Great for fish, hamburgers, sausages, and beyond the adjustable depth design allows for cooking of various meats and vegetables without the need for tools and difficulty. Easy thumb squeeze adjustment allows for varying cooking thickness across the 4 thickness settings; for uneven thicknesses the settings can independently be determined on each side of the basket. Simple thumb screw fastening allows for easy wedge mounting to 5/16" square and clamp mounting to 1/2" hexagon and 3/8" square rotisserie spit rods. For small diameter spit rods or extremely imbalanced food loads its recommended to utilize rotisserie spit forks inserted through the ends of the basket to provide additional protection from basket slipping. Baskets interior dimensions are: 14"L X 7.5" W X 2" D. For Fitment consideration, you will need a spit rod mounting area of no less than 16.5" wide and 4.5" of clearance in each direction around the spit rod to allow for the basket to turn without interference. Question:	Does it work well for Omni plus
Answer:	If your intention is to just sit the rotisserie in the toaster oven, I would think it will work. But, as I said before, the basket doesn't work that well. I had to close u the sides with tin foil so food wouldn't fall out of the basket. Even doing that, I lost almost half the vegetables but that was on a rotisserie. Good luck.
