| Answer: | The manual says to only use the recommended tanks and says that it's not safe to use others. That doesn't mean that you "can't" use another tank with it, but it probably means that it's inadvisable and likely invalidates the warranty. I have not tried to hook anything other than 1-lb. propane tank to it (Ace Hardware brand), so I can't say for sure what is possible. I can only say that I wouldn't try to do it because I'm pretty squeamish about possible leaks using hardware that's no recommended by the manufacturer. |

The adaptors are mostly for running propane torches designed for a 1 lbs cylinders off of a larger propane tank but it world allow this to be hooked up to a portable cylinder however if you want to hook up the thing you're using to this product you'd need an adaptor for each end. With that said I must advise that this grill is made to mount on an existing rail on your trailer/RV. I thought that the legs could be extended to use with or without a rail. I was wrong and the heat from the bottom was melting the plastic TV Tray I used as a table. I got around that by using a fold up aluminum table. I just returned from vacation in Colorado and it worked great. Even distribution of heat was a great plus. Happy Camping. |

I believe a rechargeable "C" battery would work, but I haven't tried (don't have any around the house). It has always worked perfectly, though I haven't used mine much; if the rechargeable puts out the same voltage, there should be no problem, though spark might fail as the battery's voltage falls off. I store the unit separate from its battery because (1) all batteries leak eventually, and (2) I don't trust an igniter like this stored ready to spark. |

| Answer: | Despite claims, there is absolutely NO PIEZO crystal in this product. It has a circuit that boosts the 1.5 volt battery to a voltage high enough to create a spark. It produces about 8 sparks per second depending on the state of the battery, and how clean the battery contacts are. BTW the 1.5 voltage of a "C" cell, is not enough to light an LED directly, which is probably why the outmoded filament flashlight bulb is used. The overall design is atavistic but reliable, although the bulb has a limited lifespan. |
