User questions & answers
Question: | What is the R-value for this sleeping pad |
Answer: | The R-value is 2.1 |
Question: | How well does this work for side sleepers |
Answer: | I’m 6’3”, 205lbs and I can comfortably sleep on my side without “bottoming-out” |
Question: | What are severage conditions |
Answer: | I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. I assume you are asking how cold it is good to. I use mine inside a gortex bivy bag in a hammock. It works great in bicycle, under sleeping bag, but, for ground sleeping, ide use a thermorest, or similar. It might move around too much directly on the ground. Also, it isn't for cold season camping |
Question: | Can this double as a pool float |
Answer: | Although the sleeping pad is air tight and puncture resistant, it hasn’t been tested as a floatation device. You may be able to temporarily float but I don’t recommend it for life saving floatation. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the the Q1200 model compatible with the Weber 6557 Q portable cart |
Answer: | The 6557 Q Portable Cart is absolutely compatible with Weber Q 1000 and 2000 series grills. |
Question: | Can I use this on the tailgate of my truck or does it burn too hot and will melt the plastic cover on the tailgate |
Answer: | The grill is designed for table top use and should be fine for your tail gate. If you are worried, put a couple of large tiles or some other fire resistant material under the grill. I would be more worried about placing hot utensils or pans on the gate. |
Question: | How long do the small canisters last |
Answer: | I just started with a fresh, 4th canister of 16.4 oz. LP. I used up each of the last 3 canisters within 5 grilling sessions, about 5 hours total per canister and cooking between 350 to 450 F degrees. From my experience, a 16.4 oz canister of LP lasts between 4.5 - 5 hours, depending on grilling temperature. A pack of four 16.4 oz LP canisters cost $12.99 at Lowes. |
Question: | Does the adapter hose need to be purchased for general use |
Answer: | No, you can use the small propane tanks which will be good for several cook outs, approx. 3 hours on low flame. We are in an RV so I use the small tanks for one or two nights stops and when camping for a week I use the 20# propane bottle with the adapter to do cooking. Cost about $25.00, but handy to have. Hope this information is useful for you. |

Weber Q1200 Series Portable Gas Grill
Notice how sturdy the shroud feels as it opens smoothly on its hinges? See how the burners roar to life on the very first try? Delighted by how simple it is to achieve a mouthwatering meal every time? It's no accident. Weber spends countless hours perfecting the grilling systems on its gas grills, assuring easy assembly, an evenly heated cooking surface, and precision controls so you can tone things down or up to the perfect heat level for direct or indirect cooking.
Cookbox and Shroud
The cookbox houses the components of the cooking system: cooking grates, burner tubes, and the grease management system.
Made of cast aluminum, Weber's gas-grill cookboxes are durable, efficient, require minimal care and maintenance, and can withstand the heat needed to grill at any temperature. In addition, the shape of the cookbox, when combined with the shroud, allows for the proper circulation of heat around food for even cooking whether you're using direct or indirect heat.
Cooking Grates
Weber gas-grill cooking grates come in three exceptional materials: porcelain-enameled steel, stainless steel, and porcelain-enameled cast iron. Each type retains heat evenly and sears food beautifully. Porcelain-enameled steel cooking grates are durable and easy to clean. Stainless steel rod cooking grates make lovely sear marks, hold heat very well, and clean up with ease. Porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates combine the ease of porcelain-enameled with the superior heat retention of cast-iron.
Burner Tubes
Weber's burners are made of high-grade stainless steel, which will stand up to the small amounts of water found in liquid propane and natural gas. The burner tubes are made of a singular piece of steel with no welds, making them stronger and more resistant to rust and burn-through. Weber gas-grill burner tubes can be cleaned easily by gently brushing with a Weber stainless-steel grill brush.
The burners are spaced to provide heat across the entire cooking grate. The burner valve has infinite control settings, so you can fine-tune the heat levels.
Grease Management
When juices drip off the meat, they funnel down into the grease management system. The grease management system consists of an angled grease tray and catch pan. The grease tray rests beneath the cookbox a safe distance from the burner tubes to prevent the grease from catching fire. Grease is channeled down the grease tray and into the catch pan. Both the grease tray and catch pan are easy to clean. The tray easily slides out of the cabinet for cleaning, and when the catch pan starts to fill, simply remove the disposable drip pan, toss it in the trash, and replace it with an empty pan.
Tradition
When George Stephen created the first Weber grill, he wanted to be able to bring his family together for a good meal. He insisted on a product that would exceed customers' expectations.
In the years since then, the Weber name has become synonymous with backyard barbecues and the family, friends, and good times that go with them. At Weber, they continue that tradition of excellence in everything they do from the development of new grills and accessories to the services they provide to customer and dealers.
Innovation
From the very beginning, Weber revolutionized backyard grilling. Since then, they have continued to develop products that enhance the grilling experience. From the original kettle with heat controlling dampers to electronic temperature controls and Flavorizer bars, Weber continues to be at the forefront of modern grilling, making the backyard a part of your kitchen.
Performance
Weber grills have been and will continue to be the true definition of performance in backyard grilling. Whether you're cooking a basic burger or an extensive meal, Weber grills are designed and engineered to give you the best performance every time.
Service
Service is of the utmost importance at Weber. Their Customer and Dealer Service associates work every day to ensure that their customers and dealers have the support they need.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does anyone know what the weight and dimensions of the boxed grill are |
Answer: | Hi! The box dimensions of the Q2200 are L: 32.5" x W: 18.2" x H: 17.6" with a weight of 43.5lbs. Thanks! |
Question: | All the dimensions I see are with the lid open and the side platforms extended. What are the "buttoned up" dimensions with the lid closed |
Answer: | Contacted Weber (800) 446-1071 Rep said it was approximately, since she had to go to floor and measure, lid closed tables retracted Q2200 is 27 inches long, Q1200 17 inches long |
Question: | how long does small propane canister last |
Answer: | I get 2 1/2 hours out of a Coleman disposable cannister using this way: 1. 8 minutes on high to preheat. 2. Turn down to 1/2 heat when I toss on my steak. 3. Steaks take around 4 to 6 minutes depending on thickness. I cooked exactly as above thru 3 canisters, and used a timer each time I fired it up and extinguished it. I have since converted over to a full size propane tank - I just wanted to see how long the canisters would last. |
Question: | Can anyone tell me the footprint of the legs? I need to know the length and width on the legs footprint |
Answer: | I don't have this grill yet, but I plan to buy it for my camper soon. The most common unanswered question I've seen about this grill is the closed dimensions, which you would think Weber would publicize, considering it's meant to be a compact, portable grill. Because of this, I went into a Home Depot yesterday, and measured the floor model. The width, with the side shelves closed, is 32 inches. The height, with the lid closed, is 15.5 inches. The depth, with the lid closed, measured from the front of the handle to the back of the hinges is 18.5 inches. The feet have a footprint of 21 inches wide by 15 inches deep. The side tables are about 12 inches wide, and they do fold to inside of the grill when not in use. The grilling surface, measured at its longest points, is 22 inches wide by 16 inches deep. The grilling surface does taper somewhat towards each end. There are two grilling grates, so one can be replaced with the griddle. The grate does have an integrated "cover" over the burner. The regulator does look like it is screwed in, so can be removed to attach it to another regulated source like that on a camper. I couldn't try to unscrew it in store, because the regulator is held in place with a couple screws. |

Honey-Coriander Glazed Pork Chops With Roasted Corn Salsa
I love coriander, but it wasn’t until I made this recipe that I discovered how beautifully it pairs with honey and paprika, so much so that the Roasted Corn Salsa carries the same pairing and enriches the overall dish. This glaze is superb on meats as well as grilled vegetables or brushed on toast with butter. This is an endless-summer recipe, perfect for the short, miraculous window when corn, herbs, and tomatoes can all be found growing in the fields. You can also re-create this recipe in winter, using frozen sweet corn and cooking the pork chops under the broiler.
Recipe
PREP In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, olive oil, vinegar, coriander seeds, salt, paprika, garlic, and pepper to form a glaze. Transfer 2 tablespoons of the glaze to a small lidded jar or airtight container and then chill for up to 3 days.
In a ziplock bag, combine the remaining glaze with the pork chops. Seal the bag, use your hands to coat the pork chops, and then chill for up to 24 hours.
Fire the grill to high heat, create a two-zone fire (see page 27), and position the grill grate 4 inches from the coals.
Place the pork chops over direct heat and grill until charred, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Let the flames lick the meat! Transfer the pork chops to the edge of the direct heat zone and continue to cook until the pork chops are firm to the touch, 5 to 7 minutes on each side. Use a thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the thickest section of the pork chops is 145°F. An easier way to check for doneness is to cut through the thickest part of the pork chop; the inside should be light brown, not pink. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
Serve the pork chops on a cutting board or serving plate, or transfer to campers’ plates. With the back of a spoon, spread the 2 tablespoons glaze evenly over the pork chops. Top each serving with a heaping spoonful of salsa. Store leftovers in an airtight container, chilled, for up to 4 days.
Roasted Corn Salsa
Every camp needs a jar of salsa. Or two. Or three. Served with tortilla chips, salsa provides a quick, hearty snack for hungry campers. This roasted corn salsa spiffs up eggs and nachos in a heartbeat. After making this once, you’ll probably want to double the next batch and keep extra on hand. Don’t bypass roasting the corn—it makes the salsa. Spring onions, also called green onions, are often available at the supermarket alongside scallions. They are sweeter and milder than a red or yellow onion but have more bite than scallions (which are best used for garnish). They also add a perfect kick to this salsa without destroying your breath for the rest of the day. You’ll be grateful you took the time to toast and crush whole coriander seeds, which add a nutty dimension to the spice’s citrus characteristics.
Recipe
PREP In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, spring onions, olive oil, lemon juice, vinegar, honey, garlic, Sriracha, salt, and coriander seeds and toss together with a spoon. Transfer to an airtight container and then chill for up to 5 days.
Fire the grill or campfire to medium-high heat and position the grill grate 2 to 4 inches above the coals.
Place the ears of corn over direct heat and, using tongs, rotate every 2 to 3 minutes until the ears are uniformly charred and the kernels bright yellow, 10 to 12 minutes. For a darker char, drizzle olive oil over the corn so it drips onto the coals and the flames jump up to lick the corn.
Using a sharp chef’s knife, hold an ear of corn at a slant so one end is resting on a clean surface or in the base of a bowl. Slice the kernels off the cob by drawing the knife down from the top end to the bottom. Transfer the kernels to the container with the tomato mixture and stir to incorporate.
Serve immediately. Store leftovers in an airtight container, chilled, for up to 5 days.

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I buy just the grill grate for this grill |
Answer: | Yes you can. I found one on Weber. Com. Select charcoal then find your go anywhere grill then click accessories. It should pull up charcoal grate, cooking grate, and replacement handles. If the site has changed call Weber direct and order it. I have a Genesis platinum II that is 13 years old and never a problem with parts support. |
Question: | How much weight will it hold? Could I use a 7-10 Lb cast iron dutch oven on it |
Answer: | Yes it holds it fine. Just make th legs are clipped together. I use my cast iron pan for blackened catfish. Really gets the pan hot since it is so close to Coals. Great for searing steaks for the same reason. Like it dates and yakitori so I don’t have to use my big grills. |
Question: | This description states that this is a Weber Gas Go-Anywhere charcoal grill, so does that mean you can hook up a gas tank to it |
Answer: | I have the charcoal only model, but there is a model (Go-Anywhere Portable Propane Gas Grill Model # 1141001) that uses a small propane tank. |
Question: | Does the grill need any assembling when it arrives? Thank you ahead of time for your reply |
Answer: | Yes, mine arrived yesterday and as John O mentioned, minor assembly is required prior to use - affixing the handle covers and legs - , but it only takes 10 minutes. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hi, does this ship in two boxes or all in one? If two boxes please advise the dimensions and weight of each box. Thanks |
Answer: | One box. Assembly required. |
Question: | Does the grill come with the stand as shown? I only ask because it shows a different cart as part of a bundled package |
Answer: | The Q3200 comes with a stand - it is not detachable. The Q1200 and Q2200 are both "portable" & you can buy a folding stand if you want (additional purchase for Q1200 & Q2200). |
Question: | Does the grill detach from the cart? Wondering if I could take just the grill camping and hook it up to a small propane canister |
Answer: | The Q3200 does not detach for portability. You should consider the Q1000 or Q2000 Series for camping. Those are both "portable" & you can buy a folding stand if you want (additional purchase for Q1000 & Q2000). |
Question: | Does the 3200 sear steaks as well as the Summit series |
Answer: | While I think it is a little unfair to compare a $1500 grill to a $400 grill. I own both, I find the Q gets up to temp faster while the Summit will ultimately achieve higher overall temperature if you are prepared to wait. I prefer the cast iron grilling grates on the Q to the summit's stainless rods although you may eventually have to replace the cast iron grates where as the stainless will probably out live you and your children. These two grills are really apples and oranges, the Summit is a massively impressive grill that achieves amazing grilling results. As it should being Weber's top of the line grill range, the Q however is very unassuming and people don't expect it to perform as well as it does. Every time I have company and cook on the Q they are blown away by its searing power and want to know every thing about it. That makes it a real winner. |

User questions & answers
Question: | why can't you use them indoors |
Answer: | We have one and it produces quite a bit of heat. My guess is Weber doesn't want the liability and it has never been approved for indoor use. |
Question: | Is it 110V or 220V |
Answer: | the unit is 120/110 voltP.S. the greatest little grill !!!!!! |
Question: | Lining the bottom with aluminum foil to make cleanup easier? I just got one of these. Any reason not to |
Answer: | I have lined the bottom removable liner with foil. That tends to make things messy. I agree with the idea to just wipe it clean, remove the pan and use soap and water. Also, after reading Weber's suggestions, they do not recommend lining either the drip pan or reflective liner with foil. |
Question: | I am looking at the q2400 and q1400. they both have the same wattage. does the q1400 heat up quicker than the bigger one |
Answer: | Q1400 has 8.25 watts per square inch. Q2400 has 5.5 watts per square inch. Math doesn't lie. 1400 is awesome and will get to and hold sear temperature. 2400 not so much. It is not a matter of which will heat up quicker, but the little guy will hold the heat thru the process. This is a case where smaller is better. Unless you have a large crew, the 1400 is the ticket. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the burner inside supposed to be slightly slanted or crooked |
Answer: | Dont know if it is supposed to be but mine sure is. |
Question: | What size teflon sheets would I need to buy for this grill? Thank you |
Answer: | The actual cooking size, of the grill, is 16”x9”. That’s the area you have to grill. The grate. No bigger. Hope that helps. |
Question: | What material are the sides? They look like plastic. Thanks |
Answer: | The sides are made of metal. I brought this grill down to the Florida Keys and cooked on it for 12 straight night. It was able to do whatever I ask her to do. If you need it to cook low and slow it did it. If you needed to sear something did that also. As long as you got some grilled intellect this little cooker handles food like something much bigger |
Question: | does it come with one propane tank |
Answer: | No. There are no bottles of propane with the grill. You can get the propane bottles at Walmart or a sporting goods store for a few dollars. |
