Answer:	I have long used wood instead of charcoal in charcoal grills. It is very good for hamburgers -- fast stuff. To do chicken you need some little pieces of wood that will burn for some time -- dry 2 or 3 inch branches.

Answer:	Pretty close to what I got...I came up with 18 inches high, but it's hard to measure. 14 3/4 to 15 is a good diameter.

Answer:	Here's what I put in my review: "The reviews for the gold suggested that the silver was a better option for two reasons: the ash catcher tray and the fact that the holes were on the bottom rather than the side. The Gold cannot have ashes removed unless the coals are out and the charcoal rack can be removed. After using the silver, I question what good the ash catcher tray is. How do you clean it out while charcoals remain lit or unlit in the grill? With a tiny little brush or shovel? It's cute.As for the holes on the bottom. This is all well and good until your charcoal crumbles and the ashes clog the holes. And if you have the lid on, the charcoals go out. And you wonder why your hamburgers are not cooked. Having the holes on the side would keep air flow, regardless of crumbling charcoals.Third, the Gold has a handle, which would make this easier to move. After the fact, I discovered that Cook's Illustrated has reviewed portable grills, and they included the Gold in their review, but not the silver."

Answer:	The Silver has an air damper at the bottom. The Gold does not. The Gold allows you to lock the lid to the kettle for easier transportation. For open grilling, both will do the same job. With both models, you can easily starve airflow to the fire in case of flare-ups. The Go Anywhere is designed to be portable, and with a rectangular surface area, it allows for a different arrangement of food and charcoal. The go anywhere allows for stacking your charcoal on one side, so that you can have a hot side and cool side. With both the Silver and Gold models, the coals are usually right in the middle unless you use a patio brick or some other improvised device to keep the coals on one side. Depending on what you plan on cooking, you may prefer the rectangular grill surface. The Go Anywhere, with the rectangular design, is better for travel and storage. The Go Anywhere has two dampers on top, and dampers along the bottom, for better control over airflow. The Silver has a damper on the top, and a damper on the bottom. The Gold only has the damper on the lid; simple enough to extinguish heat with, but not the ideal way to feed fresh air to the coals. With the Go Anywhere's rectangle shape, you'll be able to use more of the available square inches for ribs that won't fit the Silver & Gold. At the end of the day, none of these units are designed to cook larger cuts of meat. If you get your butcher to cut a 3 bone standing rib roast from the end with the smaller bones, you can get it on the grill - but closing the lid over your roast is another matter. All three can do a small cut of brisket, a whole chicken if you butterfly or quarter it, pork loins, pork butt, and just about anything that you can close the lid on - if you get good enough to be able to control the temperature. The real trick to turning out great food, with all three of these grills and any other grill for that matter, is temperature control. Master the flame, and you could turn out everything from smoke trout to wood fired pizza. The true adventurist will even use it as a fire pit for wok cooking. Or keep it simple with these little grills, and stick to kebabs, burgers, hot dogs, short ribs, and steaks.

Answer:	Hello, had to put my beer down and go measure it. it is 12" high without the lid. I just put mine on a set of cinder blocks so you don't have to bend down all day while cooking, or you can put it on a picnic table as long as it is not plastic. I love mine. take care

Answer:	Yes you can. I found one on Weber. Com. Select charcoal then find your go anywhere grill then click accessories. It should pull up charcoal grate, cooking grate, and replacement handles. If the site has changed call Weber direct and order it. I have a Genesis platinum II that is 13 years old and never a problem with parts support.
Question:	How much weight will it hold? Could I use a 7-10 Lb cast iron dutch oven on it
Answer:	Yes it holds it fine. Just make th legs are clipped together. I use my cast iron pan for blackened catfish. Really gets the pan hot since it is so close to Coals. Great for searing steaks for the same reason. Like it dates and yakitori so I don’t have to use my big grills.

Answer:	I have the charcoal only model, but there is a model (Go-Anywhere Portable Propane Gas Grill Model # 1141001) that uses a small propane tank.

Answer:	RECOMMENDATION: IF your seeking a cover; USE the WEBER 6551 (weberQ 2000/2200 cover) for the Jumbo Joe; works great!

Answer:	I'm not positive, but I think it would fit. The bowl part is close to 8.5 inches. If they are nested together it might just go.

Answer:	They are not the same but the top vent is hard to turn it will scratch your top cover it happened to me I don't recommend this grill my cheap $20 Wal-Mart grill is way better

Answer:	I used the smaller Smokey Joe as a fire pit. It works but since they are designed to burn quickly down to coals, it seemed the wood went pretty fast. We were using pretty dry loose juniper wood though so it may perform better with a different wood.

Answer:	To attach the common type, you would just needo drill a hole, but those aren't very accurate. Better to use a probe thermometer and meter the internal temp of what you are cooking. Perfect every time.

Answer:	Yes, that is left to right across the front. The shelf is 11 inches. The grill is 18 inches. There is an inch gap between the shelf and grill. The grill includes a mounted handle on the right side that adds the extra inch. I hope this helps.
Question:	Any easy fix to prevent the grease dripping on the floor from both ends? This is very problematic for patio use
Answer:	Mine did that on the first use. Wasn't really sure where grease was coming from, or what caused it. I put an old towel underneath. After a few uses I didn't notice anymore grease. Grilled hamburgers the other night, which produce a lot of grease and had no dripping.

Answer:	I do not have a go anywhere but I can compare the Smokey Joe silver vs the gold.If you're not traveling with it then I would suggest the Silver for the cheaper price vs the gold. The gold has lid locker which keep everything in 1 piece for traveling and storage, it has side vents for better control of ventilation etc. The go anywhere because of its square shape seems more stable and it looks like its built sturdier. I personally prefer the kettle design but the choice is really up to you depending on you budget and needs.

Question:	can you use would instead of charcoal
Answer:	I assume you meant 'Wood'. The Weber (like all charcoal grills) is designed for charcoal and a different design is required for wood. I've read that wood burns hotter than charcoal, but we tried to roast potatoes wrapped in Aluminum foil on a camping trip by setting them in the coals and the aluminum got vaporized! I have see videos of professional BBQ chefs and competitors use wood by burning it separately from the smoker then using a shovel to load the coals in the smoker, but I think they were just creating 'quick charcoal'. As a former boy scout, you want to cook on coals, not flaming wood. It seems to me there is little difference -from a cooking standpoint-between a a charcoal fire and a burned down wood fire. The Charcoal may last longer and provide a more even heat; which is really the whole point in fuel selection. If I was in a pinch and out of charcoal I would build a wood fire in a pit and when it had burned down to hot coals, transfer them to the grill. I would not start a wood fire in the Weber and wait for hard wood to burn down to cooking level. Don't think it would do well, but maybe someone out there has tried it?
Question:	Are the grill grates hinged with this model
Answer:	So... we have 1 yes and 3 no's... I probably wasn't very clear in my initial question what I'm asking if the top grill grate has a hinged section that you can lift up during your cook to add additional coals. I think it only comes stock on the Gold series kettle after doing more research.

Answer:	You can purchase a separate hinge kit from unknownbbq.com that will keep the lid attached to your grill. It also has a removable pin to take the lid off all together. They aren’t cheap at around $50 to $60!
Question:	Assembly help! I'm stuck on page 9, step 9 - what is the purpose of the H piece? I can't get it to stay on there
Answer:	The "H" piece goes on from the bottom and connects to the 3 bladed vent covers that fit on the inside. You have to install the 3 bladed vent covers, then reach up from the bottom with the "H" piece and install the long steel rod with the loop bended on the end. This is the handle that allows to open/close the vent. When you start up the grill you open them and to cool down/extinguish the coals you close the vent, also ash will fall out of these holes. During assembly I found it hard to install the "H" piece, because you have to hold down the 3 bladed vent cover with one hand while using the other to install the "H" piece and steel handle. I suggest you have someone help hold down the 3 bladed vent cover while you install the "H" piece and then slide in the steel handle to retain all.

Question:	Can I use a charcoal chimney to start the coals
Answer:	I've never used a charcoal chimney so not sure, but one thing I do know is that lighting it the regular way with a long stem lighter works just as good. I used the grill one time, and I love it! Easy to clean, the temperature gauge is so very helpful. I use the copper sheets on my grill (2 sheets will cover the entire grilling area). They really work and helps to keep your grilling area clean from build-up. I also invested in a cover to protect from the weather so I can get a long life out of this grill. Excellent buy for me!!!

Answer:	'I think you can hire the AMAZON EXPERT to assemble for you at home. The Grill comes directly from China via Georgia and it's pretty much the way they would send it to you. Since I bought mine, I find out that for an extra $ 20.00 you can get something better at a local Walmart! This, it looks nice on the picture, but is a little disappointment in the results department! Too flimsy, nicks easily, and air enters from everywhere!
