I did however purchase "Cultures for Health Bulgarian Yogurt Starter Culture" here on amazon. It came with really good instructions & tons of tips & other info on their website. My first batch with the Starter was very thin, but had a good clean yogurt smell so i used it for my next bad.. the next was still a bit thin but by my 3rd batch I was getting a good taste & texture. You can also use a good store bought yogurt as your starter as well. The ones I tried that worked well where Activa & Stonyfield whole milk plain yogurt, both of these provided a decent yogurt. Flavorings can be added right before the yogurt is served. Sweet options include fresh or preserved fruit, honey, molasses, palm sugar, jam, and flavored syrups. All you need to make homemade yogurt is a half gallon of milk and about a half cup of yogurt. Whole or 2% milk will make the thickest, creamiest yogurt, but you can also use skim milk if you like. They work like a charm, in fact, much better than kindling because very small pieces of wood incinerate quickly where this has a nice slow burn which will help get your fire started. Here's a piece of advice, if you're not already doing so dig a small hole at the bottom of your fire pit to shield wind from these cubes. It's just about the only drawback of these things that I can say. Their heat is not intense and are prone to being blown out in the right wind conditions. If you just having small campfires these things are fantastic. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The parafin wax does not seem to be affected much by time in my experience. I have had great success despite having packages open for many months. These older cubes lit and burned without issue.

Question:	Can you start charcoal with these
Answer:	Fire Starter Stick Stacks enabled me to start the charcoal and my wood burning fireplace easily. I also, plan on using it as a fire starter when I go camping (can carry in a plastic bag). No accelerant smell and the fact it burns completely are big pluses. I will purchase again. L
Question:	How many does it take to start a large chimney full of lump charcoal
Answer:	no more than 2, depending on how tight it is packed -needs some airflow, but works great. I don't use chimney, just start with 1 in middle of stack and add 2nd on big stack off center under 2nd layer in Komodo.Light bottom and it will light 2nd as it reaches it. 30 minutes to get everything really going-350 degrees.
