A partially depleted Battery, say it tested at 12.4 will be charged until the battery voltage reaches 12.6 to 12.8. This is better than having a Controller which could go bad or malfunction. With the Cells balanced to charge no more than 12.6 to 12.8 volts, its not possible for your Battery to overcharge. Also, the voltage the panel generates will not wale up your Vehicle's Modules which could be sensitive to voltages in excess of 12.8 volts. This is a good panel. On an overcast day with my tinted Windows it will still trickle charge my battery until fully topped off.

Answer:	I think the wires that came with the unit are probably 6 feet long but if you need more length you can purchase an extender. Keep in mind the less the voltage must travel the more efficient the charger will operate.

Answer:	This is a small current Its wires can support its current There won't be any problems
Question:	can I use this for light in my barn
Answer:	You could if you connected it to a small 12v battery and used some of the 12 LED retrofit light kits they use for the interior of cars or an 12v led strip. I'd suggest maybe a 12v CCTV battery to make it affordable. Unless you are talking about large amounts of light, then you probably would be better off with some kind of pre-made solar light kit.
Question:	Does this unit have a charge profile controller for lead acid batteries, they prevent over charging & shut down the current as battery approaches 12v
Answer:	It has no controller. But if you charge small batteries, you need a controller. If you charge a large battery, you don't need a controller because its current is relatively small and it won't cause overcharging.
