Answer:	The switch will work fine for the generator battery - it will actually be overkill in that application. The switch intended application carries the full current of a marine battery to a large starter motor - which is over 100 amps ....and up to the full 500 cold cranking amp capability of a marine battery.
Question:	I have a car that is stored for the winter will this maintain the battery charge
Answer:	I ordered 3 switches with picture and description as shown to the right. What I received were Chinese imitations, not Hella. They were physically the same EXCEPT: (1) the binding posts were smaller; (2) the plastic key is different (but OK); and (3) it came with a rubber cap to keep moisture out when the key is removed. One of the 3 Chinese switches was "bad out of the box" - no continuity. I contacted the vendor, which promptly refunded 1/2 of my money and apologized. (obviously, 1/2 is more than I paid per switch) I installed one of the good switches in my boat (which had 3 Hella's) and kept the other imitation as a back-up. I *hope* the Chinese switch performs well. Bottom line: it is Chinese and it is NOT Hella.

Answer:	You don't. You drill one large hole in the mounting panel for the shaft, and two smaller holes for the mounting bolts. The switch is mounted behind the panel, with the shaft poking thru the panel. It is not a very aesthetic switch, but is not intended to be pretty - only effective.

Didn't realize until the following spring when we went to recharge battery (after warranty had just expired) that there was zero battery acid. Save yourself the heart ache and buy ready to install from auto store.

Answer:	No. It's a great scanner on the road but for home it is less than ideal. You can only scan one page at a time and it's sometimes hard to get the page to go through without distortion.
