User questions & answers
Question: | can you have in parallel a 4,000 Watt generator and a 2,000 Watt generator using the parallel kit |
Answer: | You might be able to. There is no reason to, when you parallel 2 generators you can only get double the smallest generators output so you would only get 4000,the same as just the bigger generator. |
Question: | Anyone know which magnetic dipstick can be used for this generator? (please if you have a link to it, it would be helpful |
Answer: | I purchased a 'Work Zone' Brand generator. It is sold exclusively (I believe) at Aldi's. It appears identical in just about every way possible to the Pulsar. I bought a magnetic dipstick for mine right here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W9HKRV1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Worth it in my opinion!!! |
Question: | This run with “gasoline”? In the top says Gas but in the description says gasoline |
Answer: | It's gasoline. 1203 no-lead. Common vernacular in the US is 'gas'. While not technically accurate, it is well-understood. |
Question: | Is pulsar a good and reliable brand? Are their engines similar to those of the major brands? And is it worth the almost $500 for the portable 2000w |
Answer: | I was very impressed with this unit. Checking the engine carefully you will find many QA chalk marks on critical assemblies, just like Honda. Most off brands do not have good quality control. |

Question: | I have a 27 ft jayco will it run my a/c unit plus couple lights and tv/ dvd player |
Answer: | do not know what Jayco is, assume its a boat. my 6500 will run my whole house except my 220volt stove and my 2 central air 220 volts. That includes 2 refrigerators , wine cooler, all lights, tv, dvd, and a 110volt window a/c. |
Question: | Can this generator be used in the UK |
Answer: | I dont think so different wattage appliances |
Question: | Does this generator come with the propane regulator and if so how long is the hose |
Answer: | Yes and 3ft I believe |
Question: | Will it power a 220 volt well pump |
Answer: | This generator has a NEMA 14-50 socket, that socket can connect about 50 amps at 240V. This generator can supply 9000W continuous, this means you can continuously draw 37.5A (pushing it hard). Most deep-well submersible pumps are less than 3HP (typically 1HP). A Horsepower(HP) is 745.7 watts (about 3.25 amps at 240V). Watts and horsepower are different units for the same thing, power (Just like liters and gallons are different units for volume). You'd think, that you can power a 12HP motor with this generator because it can supply 9000 watts, this is wrong because motors need a large surge current to get them started. This is called the startup current. A 1 or 1.5HP well pump uses a 25 or 30A breaker in your panel because the startup current is much higher than the running current (they can have a 20 to 40 amp surge), which is why you want a larger generator for your well pump. After the startup current, your pump will draw about what its horsepower rating is (about 750W for 1HP). This generator should work with any well with up to a 3HP pump. It might work with a 5HP pump, but not reliably because you're pushing your luck since these call for a 70A breaker and the surge could be twice what the generator is capable of supplying. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I run my AC |
Answer: | Air conditioners require a certain amount of power (watts, which equals voltage [120 for plug-in, 240 for most central units] multiplied times current draw in amperes ["amps"]. and that's the running power it needs. But when it starts up, for a brief time is pulls more power to start, and for air conditioners the starting power required is more than for a lighter, easier spinning load like a window fan, so you need to identify the starting power draw. Generator ratings show a running power level and a starting power, compare to ensure you get a sufficiently powerful generator, and include all other loads that will connect to it (lighting, refrigerator, etc.), even though they will be less than most air conditioners, it all adds up. |
Question: | is this rating "this inverter operates at 64 dBA from 23 feet" at peak draw, or idle |
Answer: | The industry standard for measuring inverter output is 25% load. |
Question: | I know the product dimensions are listed but they don't specify which is height, length and width. Can anyone please help me with that? Thanks |
Answer: | I went out to measure and my approximate measurements are quite different than what's listed. I measured roughly 18inW x 20.5inL x 17.5inHWide I measured across top, front to backLength I measured across front from side to sideHeight I measured from ground to top, including height of gas cap. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What makes this a hybrid generator? Is it an inverter generator, or something else |
Answer: | We are using the term hybrid in the sense that we have taken a traditionally fully enclosed inverter style generator and put it on an open frame like a traditionally non-inverter style generator. This allows us to use a larger engine and increase output power while decreasing cost. The trade off is that this machine will be slightly louder than fully enclosed style inverters. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What type of fuel do you put in |
Answer: | Fuel must meet these requirements. Clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline A minimum of 87 octane/87 AKI (91 RON). Gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol is acceptable. Do not use unapproved gasolines, such as E85. Do not mix oil in gasoline or modify the engine to run on alternate fuels. This will damage the engine components and void the warranty, To protect the fuel system from gum formation, mix a fuel stabilizer into the fuel. Please refer to your owners manual for further instructions. |
Question: | Has anyone converted theirs to propane |
Answer: | I don't know of anyone converting, but would be interested in any response from someone who has. My home standby generator, Generac, is propane and I love it. |
Question: | Does it have an electric start |
Answer: | no, it has a pull start but it pulls very easy. Never had to pull more than twice. Electric starter is just one more thing to go wrong on a generator |
Question: | Why won't it ship to California |
Answer: | The Westinghouse product I am interested in will not ship to CA. What makes this odd is this exact unit is sold online and in stores here in CA. If it were in stock I would gladly buy locally. Maybe these situations will slowly bring Amazon to its long overdue knees. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there any generators comparable in price and amenities (quiet, light) that runs on propane |
Answer: | One commenter wrote “I then converted it to tri-fuel (gasoline/propane/natural gas) using a kit from US Carburetion (kit MSK3202).” Using the MSK3202 to switch from gas to propane could result in a large THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) since “One can typically expect to get around 10 – 15 % less power from a propane generator compared an equivalent gas generator.” chainsawjournal Or using the MSK3202 to switch from gas to propane could result in an unknown THD plus 10 – 15 % less power. |
Question: | Will this run out of the box? Does it include oil |
Answer: | No Oil! Comes with the funnel to fill the oil. Once oil and gasoline are added it fires right up. |
Question: | What are the true differences between this model and the 56200i which is more money, but seems to offer less features?? thanks |
Answer: | I have both, the 56200i is heaver and slightly larger, it also has a fuel gauge. The 56203i is noticeably quieter and puts out slightly more wattage. You won't be disappointed with either of them. |
Question: | Who makes the Engine |

User questions & answers
Question: | Parallel is there a way to parallel these and use them to the full potential? Or get 240v |
Answer: | No. I went through this the hard expensive way. You would need to wire these in series, not parallel. It is confusing for us non-electrical engineers. It would be a good idea to make a series kit because in my estimation most people who can afford a 50Amp RV aren't going to screw around with two generators when they can buy a Honda EU7000is. There are no consumer grade (affordable) 240v propane inverter generators available. Just loud dirty power. |
Question: | The fuel is gasolinera or LPG or propane gas |
Answer: | The iGen4500 runs solely on gasoline. We also offer the iGen4500DF, which runs on both gasoline and propane. |
Question: | What is the Dual Fuel option |
Answer: | Gas (liquid) or lpg propane tank. Really nice to have |
Question: | cual es el costo de envio Puerto Rico |
Answer: | I paid 995 for the machine. I don’t know how much shipping is to PR. But I do recommend the machine. It works great |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will the iGen2200 be adequate to supply power to an ordinary apartment with full-sized refrigerator, computer, lighting, but no AC |
Answer: | Should be as long as you do not have any high power demand requirements hooked up like blow dryers, heaters, frying pans, microwaves etc. Just stick to the frig, computers, a few lights and you will be fine. There is a power meter onboard so if you get to the power limit you will know and can remove a few items to stay within limits. |
Question: | If I want to plugin my electronics like my fan and laptop, phones, etc, do I need to buy additional cabling? thanks |
Answer: | Hi! The great thing about inverter generators is that they are perfect for powering sensitive electronics like your laptop and cellphone so there is no need buy additional cabling for that purpose. There is two standard 120V 20A household outlets and two 5V USB ports. If you wish to connect more items than the number of receptacles allow, then we recommend buying an additional power strip to accommodate for that. |
Question: | Este producto mueve un aire 110 de 12000 btu que consume 10.5amp?
Question: | I ordered the igen2200 peak watts and what I received says on the box 2000.... anybody else get that |
Answer: | peak watts means it can produce that much for a short period but will run long term at 2000. it's like overrevving a car engine. you would not run it at 6000 rpm for very long if you want it to last. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are all the components of this generator are bonded to the frame? Asking in regards to grounding if just plugging appliances directly into unit |
Answer: | Yes it is a bonded neutral. But this can be easily reversed if an earthen ground is required. For further information send an email to [email protected] and we'll be glad to help. -Tom |
Question: | How do I figure out how much wattage I need to power the whole house central air and refrige plus a couple of lights |
Answer: | Generally amps x volts = watts. But special allowance must be made for inductive loads, such as AC and fridge. those appliances can easily require double the running current, just to start. Generally speaking, I think the 5250 s a bit light for the task. Feel free to ring up our service department M-F 07.00-15.30 pacific time and we'll help you spec a generator. Tom |
Tom - Pulsar |
Question: | how many db |
Answer: | 76 Tom |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this generator be hooked up to a larger (100+ gallon) propane tank, with some type of adapter |
Answer: | You need a POL to QCC1 adapter like this or similar. ( SHINESTAR Propane Tank Gauge and Hoses https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0ILKIJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dmVNBbFV8KWDT) Just bought one of these generators for my in laws and a new 100# tank right before hurricane Florence. |
Question: | Can I run a fridge and a freezer |
Answer: | Definitely. I ran my furnace, fridge, heater for the fish tank, a bunch of lights and phone chargers. Just remember to start the generator first, let it warm up some, pull one thing it at a time and you'll be fine. |
Question: | What is the decibel noise rating |
Answer: | Remember folks that this is a air cooled engine which are notoriously noisy engines by design. The engine does have a large muffler which helps a lot with exhaust noise but this generator has a open cabinet and doesn’t have an enclosed cabinet so all the machinery noise from the engine and generator goes everywhere. Noise is relative to different people. If a rattling noise is what bothers you but low sounds don’t bother you, you might consider a more expensive model that is enclosed. If rattles don’t bother you but low sounds do, then this is a good product for you. Personaly I knew what I was buying. An open generator that is going to make some sort of racket so I made a very nice enclosure and mine produces 65db at 5 feet. All generators of this price that are air cooled and not enclosed make a lot of noise. It’s more of a matter of what you or your neighbors can tolerate. |
Question: | if battery goes dead can it be started manually |
Answer: | yes, but only if using propane as a fuel source. if using gasoline then the recoil start won't work without a charged battery attached. I have tried it, and Champion customer service confirmed this. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the dB rating on this unit |
Answer: | 50 dB at 1/2”. That is what the manufacturer is saying. Without a standard it is worthless information. I can claim mine is 47 dB but that measurement is at 30’ from the quietest side another claims 57dB but that is at 10’ Reporting the max reading from any side. Guess which one is quieter? Every generator is 0dB if you stand far enough away. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Most of Generac’s products—like the XC Series portable generators—are built right here in Wisconsin. However, the iQ3500 is manufactured to our specifications by a partner overseas. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Same as my DuroMax XP2000iS. These are all Yamaha clones. I paid $450 for mine. Same exact generator, just blue instead of orange. Also, the Pulsar PG2300iS at $429. |
Question: | Generac 30 A for RV |
Answer: | I have a Rockwood 233s travel trailer with a 15k air conditioning unit. This runs the whole unit, lights, fridge, water pump fans and AC no problem. |
