User questions & answers
Question: | Can I run my AC |
Answer: | It looks like you are asking abut the 5000 watt Hybrid Generator. My Eyedro energy monitor tells me my house air conditioner runs around 2600 watts. Add 1000 watts to that for starting current and it appears this generator would run my (and probably yours) house air conditioner. Consider other house loads though. My water heater draws over 3000 watts alone and would overload the generator if the air was running too. You would have to manage the loads to use this generator to power your home air conditioning. There is a larger version of this generator, the Champion Power Equipment 100520 8750-Watt DH Series Open Frame Inverter that runs at 7000 watts. Spend a couple hundred dollars more and get this one. I would still manage my loads carefully though. |
Question: | is this rating "this inverter operates at 64 dBA from 23 feet" at peak draw, or idle |
Answer: | The industry standard for measuring inverter output is 25% load. |
Question: | I know the product dimensions are listed but they don't specify which is height, length and width. Can anyone please help me with that? Thanks |
Answer: | I went out to measure and my approximate measurements are quite different than what's listed. I measured roughly 18inW x 20.5inL x 17.5inHWide I measured across top, front to backLength I measured across front from side to sideHeight I measured from ground to top, including height of gas cap. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What makes this a hybrid generator? Is it an inverter generator, or something else |
Answer: | We are using the term hybrid in the sense that we have taken a traditionally fully enclosed inverter style generator and put it on an open frame like a traditionally non-inverter style generator. This allows us to use a larger engine and increase output power while decreasing cost. The trade off is that this machine will be slightly louder than fully enclosed style inverters. |

User questions & answers
Question: | If ran through either a 120v plug or a 30 amp adapter plug to 1 outlet in the house, is there a limit on how much you can power from one outlet |
Answer: | Having used quite a few propane heaters, generators, and torches(large ones) I can safely say the best way to stop the frost is to reduce the pressure on the tank. The easiest, simplest safest way to do that is to get a higher volume tank. If a 20lb tank is frosting badly you are drawing it to quickly, try a 40lb or better even a 100lb tank. Your frosting problem will go away. |
Question: | How much oil shoud I put in it. I received the unit but no documentations on the first time oil fill up. Thanks to any and everyone |
Answer: | Yes, the topdon hurrican200 portable power station is built-in mppt, so no need your solar panel with MPPT controller. If you have any question, please free to contact to us via: [email protected] |
Question: | What is the decibel level of this generator? I can't find it listed. Thanks |
Answer: | It's completely portable, so picnics, tailgating, camping, whatever you want. |
Question: | Is this big enough to power a small house in an outage of several days to a week (I know nothing about electricity and generators). Thanks |
Answer: | Sorry sir, the H200 power station can't charge it and use it at the same time, no pass through charging function. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this generator be hooked up to a larger (100+ gallon) propane tank, with some type of adapter |
Answer: | You need a POL to QCC1 adapter like this or similar. ( SHINESTAR Propane Tank Gauge and Hoses https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M0ILKIJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dmVNBbFV8KWDT) Just bought one of these generators for my in laws and a new 100# tank right before hurricane Florence. |
Question: | Can I run a fridge and a freezer |
Answer: | Definitely. I ran my furnace, fridge, heater for the fish tank, a bunch of lights and phone chargers. Just remember to start the generator first, let it warm up some, pull one thing it at a time and you'll be fine. |
Question: | What is the decibel noise rating |
Answer: | Remember folks that this is a air cooled engine which are notoriously noisy engines by design. The engine does have a large muffler which helps a lot with exhaust noise but this generator has a open cabinet and doesn’t have an enclosed cabinet so all the machinery noise from the engine and generator goes everywhere. Noise is relative to different people. If a rattling noise is what bothers you but low sounds don’t bother you, you might consider a more expensive model that is enclosed. If rattles don’t bother you but low sounds do, then this is a good product for you. Personaly I knew what I was buying. An open generator that is going to make some sort of racket so I made a very nice enclosure and mine produces 65db at 5 feet. All generators of this price that are air cooled and not enclosed make a lot of noise. It’s more of a matter of what you or your neighbors can tolerate. |
Question: | if battery goes dead can it be started manually |
Answer: | yes, but only if using propane as a fuel source. if using gasoline then the recoil start won't work without a charged battery attached. I have tried it, and Champion customer service confirmed this. |

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 2,000-Watt Inverter Generator provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops, without all the noise of a regular generator. Produce up to 2000 surge watts and 1700 rated watts of power. Our 79cc 4-stroke OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 51 decibels at quarter load, quieter than a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while camping, hunting, tailgating, and restoring backup power. The WEN 2000W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing for the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. The lightweight 39-pound design makes for easy portability while the ultra-efficient one-gallon tank provides over 7 hours of half-load run time. The fully-packed panel comes equipped with two three-prong 120V 14A NEMA 5-20R receptacles, one 12V 8.3A DC receptacle and two 5V USB ports. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the unnecessary usage of gasoline. Need more energy? Easily link up any two WEN inverter generators using a WEN Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage amongst multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown combine with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights to safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage. Backed by a two-year warranty.
- Ultralight body weighs in at a mere 39 pounds for easy transport and storage

- Produces 2000 surge watts and 1700 rated watts of clean power for safe charging of sensitive electronics (phones, tablets, televisions, computers, etc.)
- Fuel shutoff maximizes the generator’s lifespan by using up the remaining fuel in the carburetor before shutting down
- Includes two three-prong 120V receptacles, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports, and a two-year warranty
User questions & answers
Question: | Is there any generators comparable in price and amenities (quiet, light) that runs on propane |
Answer: | One commenter wrote “I then converted it to tri-fuel (gasoline/propane/natural gas) using a kit from US Carburetion (kit MSK3202).” Using the MSK3202 to switch from gas to propane could result in a large THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) since “One can typically expect to get around 10 – 15 % less power from a propane generator compared an equivalent gas generator.” chainsawjournal Or using the MSK3202 to switch from gas to propane could result in an unknown THD plus 10 – 15 % less power. |
Question: | Will this run out of the box? Does it include oil |
Answer: | No Oil! Comes with the funnel to fill the oil. Once oil and gasoline are added it fires right up. |
Question: | What are the true differences between this model and the 56200i which is more money, but seems to offer less features?? thanks |
Answer: | I have both, the 56200i is heaver and slightly larger, it also has a fuel gauge. The 56203i is noticeably quieter and puts out slightly more wattage. You won't be disappointed with either of them. |
Question: | Who makes the Engine |
Answer: | Its made in China, its a copy of the Yamaha 79cc engine. Very reliable if you take care to service it properly. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How long can i keep the generator running continuously? (westinghouse wgen |
Answer: | If you are referring to "continuous duty cycle" which means runs 24/7? No, this is not rated for that, Continuous duty generators cost $15K and up, run on diesel fuel or natural gas, engine operates at 1800 RPM, (4 pole generator). basically out of most peoples price range, and unless you have natural gas to the residence? |
Question: | Why oh why can't this be shipped to alaska? we're the ones that need generators |
Answer: | You're too close to Russia. We don't want them falling into the wrong hands. 😂 |
Question: | Is the 50 amp 120/240V 14–50r transfer switch capable or can you only use the 30r? It says 50 amp transfer switch ready on the brochure |
Answer: | The 240 volt outlet plug on the generator is a 30 amp style; not 50 amp. Most economical and safe whole home installation is a sliding plate on distribution panel, 30 amp “back feed” breaker, outdoor 30 amp plung-in box, 10 gauge wire (in conduit if exposed and susceptible to damage), 25 ft 240 volt generator connector cable, all for about $200 for DIY’s. DO NOT DEPEND ON ALWAYS REMEMBERING TO TURN OFF THE MAIN BREAKER!!!!! |
Question: | Prende aires acondicionados?

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the dB rating on this unit |
Answer: | 50 dB at 1/2”. That is what the manufacturer is saying. Without a standard it is worthless information. I can claim mine is 47 dB but that measurement is at 30’ from the quietest side another claims 57dB but that is at 10’ Reporting the max reading from any side. Guess which one is quieter? Every generator is 0dB if you stand far enough away. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Most of Generac’s products—like the XC Series portable generators—are built right here in Wisconsin. However, the iQ3500 is manufactured to our specifications by a partner overseas. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | Same as my DuroMax XP2000iS. These are all Yamaha clones. I paid $450 for mine. Same exact generator, just blue instead of orange. Also, the Pulsar PG2300iS at $429. |
Question: | Generac 30 A for RV |
Answer: | I have a Rockwood 233s travel trailer with a 15k air conditioning unit. This runs the whole unit, lights, fridge, water pump fans and AC no problem. |

User questions & answers
Question: | start a 13500 btu AC |
Answer: | We have a 13,500 BTU A/C in out 2004 Mountaineer and this generator starts and runs it with no problems. We leave the generator in "economy" mode all the time and it naturally revs up when the A/C starts up, but has never failed to do its job. Also, we run it only on propane... it's never had a drop of gasoline in it. |
Question: | Looks like it would weigh more with the battery and starter. Not much heavier than the 75531i |
Answer: | Rope start backup. |
Question: | How to connect to 500 gal tank |
Answer: | mine is connected to our 500 gal tank but it took some work going back & forth between the tech at champion (have to get the right one) and my propane company. i had propane company put a quick disconnect valve at the house, where the propane goes into the house on the low side of the step down valve, then i had them make me a 20' hose that connects to the diaphragm / hose that champion provides minus their regulator. There is a limit on how long the new hose can be as the pressure will drop with distance and you do need a minimum about of gas pressure for it to work. (see other answer from Champion here). Triple check w/ both Champion & your propane company. Also when you turn it on to run, the gen will have to pull out the air in the hose, takes several short cranks on the gen and if it's cold out you may end up having to pull the cord - takes some practice w/ the choke. Once the propane is flowing it's easier to restart if you don't disconnect the hose from either end. I used it this way for 22 hrs recently and it worked like a charm. Don't forget to check the oil regularly. The diaphragm must be exposed to ambient air pressure but also must stay dry. |
Question: | Does this come with the lp hose? And what connection is it |
Answer: | Yes it does. The hose connection is std. 3/8 propane connection like a barbeque uses. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Parallel is there a way to parallel these and use them to the full potential? Or get 240v |
Answer: | No. I went through this the hard expensive way. You would need to wire these in series, not parallel. It is confusing for us non-electrical engineers. It would be a good idea to make a series kit because in my estimation most people who can afford a 50Amp RV aren't going to screw around with two generators when they can buy a Honda EU7000is. There are no consumer grade (affordable) 240v propane inverter generators available. Just loud dirty power. |
Question: | The fuel is gasolinera or LPG or propane gas |
Answer: | The iGen4500 runs solely on gasoline. We also offer the iGen4500DF, which runs on both gasoline and propane. |
Question: | What is the Dual Fuel option |
Answer: | Gas (liquid) or lpg propane tank. Really nice to have |
Question: | cual es el costo de envio Puerto Rico |
Answer: | I paid 995 for the machine. I don’t know how much shipping is to PR. But I do recommend the machine. It works great |

Question: | Esta planta mueve un esmeril y un taladro.
Question: | Can I hook this up to my 250 lb in ground propane tank |
Answer: | You can hook it up to anyLegal Propane supply. |
Question: | You promised Wednesday delivery. Not friday, in the middle of a hurricane |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does Pulsar offer a running cover for this 12000 watt model? If not does anyone have experience in one that they have purchased they could recommend |
Answer: | After reviewing I believe the IGAN cover should fit. Also a folding round plastic table works. |
Question: | Puede realidar conexion directobtqblero a la casa |
Answer: | Sí, es posible. Pero, además, necesitará un interruptor de transferencia automática y otros equipos no incluidos. Y es probable que necesite la ayuda de un electricista que entienda el código de seguridad local. |
Question: | What about powering computer equipment such as servers, network equipment, camera systems, etc..etc |
Answer: | That sounds expensive and possibly delicate. Please consider using a robust inline power conditioner or UPS system. The generator makes plenty of power, your concern should be the integrity of the waveform. Server equipment is probably looking for a very clean sine wave. Tom |
Question: | Cuantos decibeles |
Answer: | Around 76. Tom |

Remember when you had clean and quiet portable power? The WEN 2,250 Watt Inverter Generator provides clean energy, free of voltage spikes and drops, without all the noise of a regular generator. Produce up to 2250 surge watts and 1800 rated watts of power. Our 79.7cc 4-stroke OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 53 decibels at quarter load, quieter than a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while camping, hunting, tailgating, and restoring backup power. The WEN 2250W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. With power output designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other sensitive electronics. The ultra-efficient one-gallon tank provides over 6 hours of half-load run time. The fully-packed panel comes equipped with two three-prong 120V 15A NEMA 5-20R receptacles and two 5V USB ports. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the eco-mode switch. This allows the generator's engine to automatically adjust its fuel consumption as items are plugged into and unplugged from the panel, preventing the unnecessary usage of gasoline. Need more energy? Easily link up two WEN inverter generators using a WEN 56421 Parallel Connection Kit (sold separately) in order to share wattage amongst multiple units. Low-oil and low-fuel automatic shutdown combine with the built-in overload protection and indicator lights to safeguard both your generator and your electronics from damage.
- Dimensions: 19" x 11.5" x 18.2" | Weight: 48.5 lbs
- Noise Level: 53 dB operation
- EPA III and CARB Compliant 79.7 cc 4-stroke OHV engine produces 2000 surge watts and 1600 rated watts
- Fuel shutoff maximizes the generator’s lifespan by using up the remaining fuel in the carburetor before shutting down
- Produces clean power to safely operate and prevent damage to sensitive electronics such as phones, tablets, televisions and computers
- Includes two three-prong 120V receptacles, one 12V DC receptacle and one 5V USB port
User questions & answers
Question: | How long will a tank last when only using the 12 volt plug |
Answer: | The generator will run for about 3.6 hours at full 1600 watt load, the 12V output max output is 100 watts. Probably over 24 hours. I don't think the load on the 12V plug would not make much difference from just letting it idle with not load. 100watts is about 1/8HP and it has a 2HP engine. |
Question: | Is this the proper oil? http://amzn.to/2l17UZs |
Answer: | I personally would use Shell Rotella. I burned up a couple of Built-rite 4 stroke weed eater motors on Mobil 1 within a year. I am now on year 5 on the 3rd one I bought with Rotellla oil. Run it in my 4 stroke motorized bicycle too. Still runs like new with 15,000 miles on it. I think some those synthetics have high heat problems when these air cooled motors are shrouded. Rotella had better specs, that's why I switched. |
Question: | Will this run an 8000btu window air conditioner (best I found online is the ac is around 7amps), a 19" tv, and a dvd player |
Answer: | I have the 1700/2000 watt Wen 56203i inverter generator and it runs my 5000 Btu window AC at my cabin just fine MOST of the time. The AC pulls 500-600 watts when running, but startup is quite a bit higher. When I'm running your standard Walmart box fan, 32inch LCD TV, a laptop charger and a few led lights at the same time, I've had the generator overload a few times when the AC has cycled off and then starts back up. That tells me that I'm right at it's surge capacity with the other devices running. In 200+ generator hours of running the AC last summer and early fall, this happened 4-5 times. It just required shutting off the ac and fan, and pushing the reset on the gen, then turning them on one at a time. It seems like most of these comments are based on: A) starting watts from a generator sizing worksheet (where the answer is "no"), or B) from a calculation using only "running watts" and ignoring startup, where the answer is "yes". I'd lean towards an answer from someone who's tried it with the setup you want. As I mentioned, my 1700 running/2000surge inverter works for my 5000btu fine MOST of the time. It's a new AC and moderately efficient, but imagine older ACs will have a higher starting watts, and would kick off mine more frequently if it could start the AC at all. |
Question: | Is this quiet enough to keep me from getting kicked out of a campground that prohibits generators (due to noise |
Answer: | This thing is far too loud for any campground. I also have a Honda 2000. If they are running side-by-side, the only thing you can here running is the Wen, you can't even tell the Honda is running at all. If you want to camp at a CG that says, "No generators", you may find yourself kicked out if you run ANY generator. |
