Answer:	I've had this barrel for over 3 winters with no cracks. I drain and cover it with a tarp in the winter. No issues and still works great!

Answer:	I am an amatuer winemaker, and have made wine from my own grapes for over thirty years. I would not do any fermenting in ANY kind of plastic vessel. The only acceptable kinds of containers are stainless steel, glass, and wood. Otherwise, you're going to get a plastic taste, which I'm sure you don't want, regardless of the health issues. Question:	What materials is this
Answer:	Yes! You just disconnect the hose leading to the barrel and then use the provided stopper to plug up the same nozzle leading from the diverter. (The principle on which it works is that, with nowhere to go, the water just builds up inside the diverter and drains as it would normally) You don't need to removed the diverter itself. I like this diverter. So far it's been maintenance free and works VERY effectively. My two rain barrels fill up very quickly and when full, the rain pours down the normal downspout. I would fully recommend this diverter. Make sure you follow the instructions and don't cut out too much of a gap when installing!

Question:	Realistically how long does this take to ship from the time it's ordered
Answer:	It will go into the barrel until the barrel is full. Only then will it continue down the spout. We would use the water in the garden, so very rarely did it actually use the spout. Very happy with it

Answer:	I've had this diverter for some time and also used it on rain barrel with a screen. The barrel, after filling, had water running over out the top. I discovered that this diverter is made to use with rain barrels that have no openings to air i.e. completely closed except diverter hose going in. With this type of barrel what happens after barrel is full is that water backs up the hose to the gutter and is expelled down the gutter. The the barrel has ANY openings to air then this can not happen. It is like a straw in water. If you cover the top of straw with a finger then water stays in the straw. If you just pick up the straw the water comes out the bottom.

Question:	Is it possible to get a longer piece for connecting two barrels? The piece that came with it is a little too short
Answer:	Hello Margaret, The overflow and connector hose is 1.5" backwash hose for swimming pools. Contact your local swimming pool supply store. They may have the backwash hose on a big roll and can cut you whatever length you require.
Question:	Can you also scoop out water from the top with a gallon bucket
Answer:	The axle-like crossbars are built into the main plastic of the barrel itself, so as another person noted, you cannot use a bucket to scoop water out unless you cut those out. Even then, it would have to be a small bucket. A five gallon one would not fit. The other problem for us is that we don't have gutter downspouts, so much of the incoming water will be deflected by this top structure. When they are only about half full, using the bottom hose will be quite slow. A friend gave these to us and we will probably have to cut them, but as was also mentioned, that might somewhat reduce the integrity of the structure.
Question:	Will this hold up in freezing temperatures
Answer:	No, the expansion of frozen water will burst the sides. The manufacturer suggests you drain it and turn it upside down, the you can leave it outside.
Question:	so the screen lifts off so you could access inside in case there is debris or to clean
Answer:	you can clean the inside by rinse it but not completely able to access. Its because they have 3 non-detachable bars on top of barrel to support screen. I think it also severed as safety for any cats and dogs not easly fall into the barrel. this barrel is higher than most people's arm length so rinse it is properly the only way to clean it. with the screen on it, its hardly any debris going in. I am going to empty it and clean it once a year before the winter. Hope this helps. Overall, its good one and working well in my back yard.

Answer:	You can't remove the cover. There is an opening with a removable screen that's approx 3" by 12" for filling. You could mop it out with the right tool.

Answer:	I bought it a few weeks ago and today it's the first time I try to use the rain water we got last week. The spigot is definitely plastic and it doesn't fit my regular sized hose, even with plumbing tape. Crap.

Answer:	I purchased my first of these barrels Sept. 2013. It looked so nice that I purchased two more May of 2014. I can attest that all these barrels still bow out when filled 3/4 or more. I have paving sand perfectly level, then concrete blocks on this & the barrel sitting securely and supported by the large blocks. Even though they do bow, mine have been going back into shape after some of the water is used. You will need to set them out 7 or 8 in from your house, because the bowing will push them forward. Because a portion of the time the barrel is being used it may be bowed, the screen insert will not fit firmly in the recessed area it's made for allowing mosquitos and such to get in. I sprinkle a few mosquito bits in the tank. It's annoying, but - NO - the company has not corrected this problem by making a thicker product. I intend to contact them about this. More people should, because otherwise, it's a very nice barrel that holds up cosmetically outside without fading out.

Question:	Do I need to drain the water out for winter time? Is it ok for it to freeze
Answer:	Yes, you need to drain the water out and turn up side down. Freezing causes the water to expand and will damage the barrel. Thanks for asking, Ed @ Team Algreen

Answer:	I would definitely put it indoors.
Question:	I was tipping this rain barrel backward and immediately snapped off the low plastic spigot. Is there a way to replace it
Answer:	I do not have an answer for that.
Question:	This barrel didn't come with parts instructions, but came with 4 pieces inside. Can you tell me where they go
Answer:	The metal bracket goes in a tiny hole on the top. The blue thing is a roll of teflon tape for the threads on the taps. The brass tap goes in the hole on the front. The black plastic tap goes on the bottom opening. Be careful installing them, the sealing is extremely fragile and will leak if you apply too much force. One of them on mine leaked from the get go and the bottom one started leaking when I moved the barrel.

They have many economical and sustainable advantages. Many communities force "odd-even" or inch no watering" bands to conserve water resources, which makes collecting your own more beneficial. It provides an ample supply of free inch soft water" that contains no chlorine, Lime or calcium for gardens, flower pots, and car and window washing. Reconditioned rain barrels are made from recycled & reconditioned plastic barrels formerly used for food product shipping, such as pickle and pepper barrels. Barrels are modified into rain barrels and assembled with a Spigot & overflow fitting. The rain Barrel top/lid is equipped with metal mesh screen to filter out debris and prevent mosquitoes from getting in.
