Answer:	Very thin and will probably have to use 2 together to make it sturdy. Disappointing.

Answer:	Amazon asked me to answer this but I did not buy these! The ones I bought were 12", 10", 8" and 6". You need 12" and 10" at the very smallest for 1 and 5 gallon pots but measure you pot pots"! 8" might work for 1 gallon but it won't leave much room for catching "water runoff".

Answer:	Depends on the yarn you use. Is it the cotton yarn or acrylic? II it is the yarn we use, such as Lily Sugar n' Cream cotton, for things such as scrubbies and wash cloths, then yes it would be good for a project like that. If you use acrylic yarn or a lighter blend then no. Area rugs get a ton of wear and tear. I made a small rug for the kitchen and it held up well for about two years. Hope this helps.
