Prepare the area you want to grow grass by removing dead grass and loosening hard soil to help tiny seedlings root.

Evenly apply EZ Seed so the area is mostly covered, but bare ground is still visible, so that seed can reach the soil. The mulch will expand 4x upon watering to help cover the seed and keep it moist (use half as much for thin areas). Only apply the recommended amount so that seedlings have enough space to access water and nutrients. The seed germinates best when daytime temperatures are between 60°F and 80°F.

Water

A deep and thorough watering is the key to success. Gently water the area until EZ Seed is completely saturated and no more water is being absorbed (this may take several minutes). Avoid pooling water. When EZ Seed begins to turn light brown, it's time to water again. Keep kids, pets and lawn mowers off newly planted seedlings until the grass is 3 inches high.

If you read carefully, the 10 lb package actually has less than one lb of seeds. Small percentage is fertilizer. 99% are mulch which you can purchase it much less price. It also depends how many sq. ft to plan to cover. This 10 lbs package covers less than 200 sq.ft. It also stated gauantee to germinate in any temperature, even exreme heat, it did not happened that way.

It is an excellent blend and covers very well and spreads out and fills in. I have large areas that get 90% shade and it grows almost as fast as the seeds in full sun. Very happy with this seed. Answer:	No. The grass is similar to a winter rye grass that that does OK in the cooler winter months, but died in Texas as soon as it got hotter and dry. I would not recommend this grass for any southern hot and dry climate.

Question:	would it work well for powdered lime
Answer:	Just bought a Classic Drop Spreader for use with pulverized (powdered) lime. Worked great with a 40 lb. bag and a setting of 14. Took a few passes to use up the bag at the recommended application rate found on the bag of lime. Cross (perpendicular) application was recommended by the lime supplier. Tried to apply a bag of lime with a rotary spreader (Scotts 2000) and wound up with clogging due to the insufficient hole size even at a setting of 11. Recommend you use granular lime with the rotary spreader. Seems to work well for me with the Scotts 2000.

Answer:	I bought this 5 years ago and only use for salt in the winter, the metal frame finally gave out in the beginning of the 6th winter. Spreads salt fine as long as the wheels turn. Not great for built up ice pack on driveway. Works great for normal use at home.

Answer:	The water will drain thru the fabric ... it may pool a little, depending on how hard the rain is falling, but it will eventually drain thru it.

After 5 phone calls to various Scotts' offices I finally talked with someone who further researched it internally and responded ---- the fabric is 1 1/2 (1.5) ounces in weight per customer service rep at Scotts Corporate office! That was surprisingly low/light considering a highly reputable manufacturer's fabric (DeWitt) offers a 4 ounce and a 5 ounce product. This Scotts product cost is 4.4 cents per square foot, whereas the DeWitt 5 ounce fabric (also sold by Amazon) is 7.5 cents per square foot. No doubt, in this case, you get what you pay for. The size that the fabric comes in should also be considered to determine which size is best suited for your needs (3 ft, 4 ft, 6 ft, etc.). How much side-by-side overlapping will be required will affect the actual net cost per square foot. For wider landscape areas, the wider fabric will be more cost effective, since less area of fabric will be consumed in the overlapping process. Hopefully this helps.

Answer:	Look man, I'm not calling you a liar, but that is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. This fabric is as good as it gets and I have done about 250 homes in this stuff starting in 2007, not a single weed has grown through it. You probably have zoysia in your yard and it creeps over the top of fabric, not through it.
