User questions & answers

Question: Is there an expiration date on these seeds
Answer: The best thing to do to find out the procedure, is go to Lady Bird Johnson website and type in how to grow bluebonnets. In it, you’ll find information about how to prepare bluebonnet seeds for planting( a little tricky but not difficult) and it says so. Just follow the directions and you’ll have a sea of bluebonnets and more. I collected my seed pods( let them dry out before shelling them) and repeated the process. For some of you that said you didn’t get any blooms that year, you probably will in the years after your first disappointments. We just returned to Arlington, Texas and the drive there and back was awash with seas of blue in pastures, yards, and everywhere! I am ordering at least a 1000 seeds so I don’t have to wait for it any more than one season!
Question: Where do these seeds come from? Source of origin
Answer: Yes. The solver in this is functionally equivalent to the 506.
Question: do these grow in zone
Answer: If you download the full manual from the Mfg. website I belive you will find the answer on page 2. I tried to paste it here but it didn't format right
Question: What zones is this plant going to thrive in? i live in new mexico, what do you think
Answer: I don't have this model in particular, but other Sharp models, allow you to set a value to a variable (mine has 8 variables available) and you can use them all in your calculation expressions. For the solver funcion, you can use all these variables in your expressions, except for "X", which is used as the unkown.

Product description

Steeped in folklore and legend as rich as the Lone Star State, the Texas Bluebonnet is the state’s official flower. Although it blooms in the early spring, seed needs to be planted in the fall of the previous year in order to establish for spring flowers. Plant on well-drained sites in sunny locations. Planting Dates - September 15 thru November 15. Bluebonnets typically have a hard seed coat and/or a certain percentage of dormancy associated with the germination. By planting in the fall, the seed is able to over-winter in the soil and result in a larger number of seed germinating in the spring. Seeding Rates - 1 lb/2,000 ft² or approx. 22 lbs/acre. Rates are fairly arbitrary, as bluebonnets will usually increase in numbers through the years, if conditions are appropriate. For more flowers the first year, use a heavier rate. For a thinner stand the first year, with the intent of letting the plants propagate and become more numerous, use a lower rate. Site Selection - Select a site that has good drainage in mostly to full sun. Care and Maintenance - For best results, keep the area moist (not over-watered) for 4-6 weeks during the growth period. If mowing is desired once the bluebonnets are established, mow at a height of 4-6 inches only after the seed has set and flowers are brown and drying.

  • Sold in reusable vintage cotton cloth bag with printed Bluebonnets logo
  • All seeds are non-GMO, not treated, all natural
  • Exceptionally high quality seed blend with high germination
  • Selected for long lasting vibrant blooms, in garden beds, pastures and prairies

User questions & answers

Question: Are these really blue bonnets with genetic engineering
Answer: The seeds come in 1 bag. Does not seem like many. I planted in fall, but they did not come up in the spring. Was disappointed
Question: How many seeds and when can they be sown
Answer: The seeds I ordered from Amazon arrived from China, so I have no way of knowing. It would be up to you to practice the criteria with your future crops. This is a seed pod producing perennial. My first crop bloomed for weeks. Very pleased with them
Question: Where do these seeds come from
Answer: I am not sure. Mine never bloomed after planting since I bought them 1.5 years ago. Looked like rocks when received so assumed not seeds that grow.

User questions & answers

Question: approximately how many seeds are there
Answer: Bluebonnets are notoriously tough, and they will benefit greatly from scarification, or being "scuffed up". This can be done by rubbing the seeds between two sheets of fine or medium grit sandpaper a few times. You're just trying to loosen up that outer coat a little, you don't want to dig into the seed too much. Happy gardening! Chris Sweet Yards Seed Co.
