Answer:	I don't think it would be too heavy. We use 2 for climbing roses and 2 for honeysuckle. However, keep in mind it isn't very tall so it could get top heavy. We plan to attach the 2 for the honeysuckle to the wall of the house once the honeysuckle gets taller.

Answer:	You can but I don't think you will need it unless you are supporting something very big and heavy. It has a pronged base which is very stabilizing.

Answer:	I don't know how heavy a cat claw vine is but it holds my Meyer Yellow Roses without a problem. If you are able to get the bottom in without bending the spikes and set as an "X" it should work. It's a bit flimsy but it works to me as well as a wooden trellis does. The bigger issue that I ran into was weaving the vines through a 12 inch space without hurting the vine. I was going to post a pic but it doesn't seem to want to let me. Hope that helps....If you would like to see a pic I can shoot you over one. I'm bad at keeping up the weaving the vines.

With the heavy ocean winds we have in South Florida I have actually placed a wooden stake inside the pot against the trellis and tie them together for strength. When vines grow you won't see the wooden piece. GREAT trellises and so beautiful. My neighbors envy my patio garden. Buy this trellis and you won't be sorry.
