Question:	Would this work for chemistry experiments (done as part of a homeschool chemistry course
Answer:	Yes, but advanced warning, we recommend keeping the ph measure above ph of 2 and below a ph of 12 as ph measures beyond those points will shorten the life of the sensor and is considered improper use and voids the warranty. It may be wise to check in advance if the chemistry course will have the student delving into substances more acidic than lemon juice like HCL, or more alkaline than hand soap. Be sure to have distilled water to rinse all substances away from the probe when testing.
Question:	Does this check PPM
Answer:	No, that would be our EC60 and PC60 that will do PPM under the measurement for Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). PH60 does only PH and mV for an ORP probe sold separately.
Question:	For egular maintanance, does the device /probe must be kept inside a solution or can it be kept inside its case dry
Answer:	It needs to be kept in the solution. The cap that comes with this is not the best solution to keep it wet either.

Answer:	It comes with a cap on the end to keep the probe moist. You'll need to calibrate it when you receive the probe to ensure accuracy.

Question:	I will be using this with my aquariums so figure anywhere from 7 - 8.4 for ph. i am confused as to which calibration solution i need
Answer:	I am looking at the Hanna website and I am seeing that they offer a calibration solution specifically designed for this instrument in pouches and that they recommend that you use pH 4, 7 and 10 for calibration. Typically when you work with these types of instruments, you want to establish a range of known data points(in this case, pH) for the instrument to use as a comparison. Let the customer know that they do not need a buffer with a specific pH, but rather a series of solutions that will allow the instrument to compare a known pH with the material being tested(the aquarium water). What I would recommend is our pH Meter Calibration and Maintenance set. The Item number is 185740. Let me know if I provide additional assistance.

It will require cleaning with distilled water to use so as not to contaminate the sample from previous ones. It appears quite accurate maybe too accurate as it will vary easily in output

Answer:	It is 12- 3/4" deep × 1-1/8" diameter. Inside measurement. I haven't broken one yet but it is thinner glass than the lab type jars.

Answer:	No. When making wine, cider, mead, beer, etc., the original specific gravity is checked before fermentation begins. Following fermentation, the final specific gravity is taken. The difference in the two is used to calculate the proof according to how much of the sugar was converted to alcohol during fermentation.
