| Answer: | Yes you can remove the screws and it gives you access to the activated carbon....obviously nobody is going to recommend doing it yourself because it is practically impossible to self fill and get all of the air spots out of in between the charcoal thus making it much less efficient than just dishing out the money to buy a new one. This filter has been on 24/7 in a stinky room of mine and has been going strong 3 months now. I am going to reverse the airflow by changing the flange to other side very soon though, but it is still scrubbing bad smells fine. |

| Answer: | When you pull air through the filter the area around the outlet flange gets most of the air draw through it. So the bottom half of the filter still has fresh charcole. With this filter you can change the outlet flange to the other side to potentially use the other half of the unused charcole. Most filter don't have this option. |
