Answer:	I grow peppers and this covers a space about 5x5 feet. I have always left both switches on. I have 5 long stem cayenne pepper plants growing in 5 gallon buckets. Started them last December and they have produced well over 1000 peppers so far. I had to buy a second lamp and now have an area about 5x10 where I grew some other types of peppers also. As far as height above the plants I have keep these about 24" above the plants. The height is adjustable.
