I had an older model (2006?) of Fiskars 32-Inch PowerGear Bypass Loppers, and even though the handle attachments tended to come apart (top and bottom on both handles), I loved those loppers. I lost them, then got the 27" Fiskars Ratchet Drive Anvil Lopper. These are much heavier and do not cut as well. I don't think the ratchet does much. I just compared them side by side with some Stihl PL 40 32" loppers ($99.99 tho, so twice the price), and the Stihls were noticeably better on dead branches about 1 3/4" thick (there were only dead branches in a brush pile behind the Stihl dealership, and they let me try an old, not-sharp Stihl they had in the back). I saw the recommendation to use bypass loppers only on green wood; I have to say that I abused those Fiskars power gear bypass loppers for years, on everything I could fit in the large jaws, and I never bent them. I've struggled with all my strength, and even twisted them to finish a cut, which obviously is not recommended, but as they got older and the handles continued to fall off every month or so, in spite of gluing, duct tape, then gorilla tape, I didn't care about breaking them, but they never broke. I was surprised that Home Depot doesn't carry the power gear model any more. The Stihl handles don't look at tough as the Fiskars ratchet anvil; I think one reason they carry the Fiskars ratchet anvil is because the handles, and the whole tool, look indestructible. But I just don't like the heaviness and the lack of cutting ability of the Fiskars ratchet drive anvil 27" lopper. The ratchet does not make up for the shorter length.

Answer:	Personally I think these are much more heavy duty than the 9154 model workout adding weight to the product. You still get great leverage to cut big limbs and can handle small ones with ease too. I've done a lot to mine and never worry about them breaking

Answer:	I dont know anything about the warranty. You might want to ask Amazon customer service. I have done a lot of tree trimming with mine and they have held up great so far.

Answer:	I can't say how long they'd last and I guess how well it would cut your honeysuckle at the base depends on how thick that is, but I've been very happy with the cutting power of the loppers I bought. They don't require a lot of strength to use in proportion to the size of branch they'll cut. I'm very happy with them.

Answer:	I would recommend using BYPASS loppers (such as Corona's WL3351 26" wood handles or SL4150 29" aluminum handles) for a more precise cut if you are trying to avoid flower loss and need the reach of long handles. Corona also manufactures a variety of high quality hand pruners, such as the BP3130, if you want to get even closer to what you are cutting. If you are cutting many lemons off lots of trees, you may also want to consider Corona's Orchard bypass loppers.

Answer:	This anvil lopper is designed to cut branches up to 1.5" in diameter. The anvil blade is best used on dead wood, as the blade and anvil tend to slightly crush the branch as it is cutting. The bypass style blade, or as mentioned in another response, a hand saw, is ideal for cutting larger live branches. My uncle uses this lopper for clearing trails and really likes how easily it cuts. Answer:	Really I think more like 2 inches of green wood at most. I have the thing with me for the 7 months of the year I'm pruning fruit trees all day. It is not the diameter it cuts that makes it a superior lopper- it is the ease of cutting and its light weight. The anvil is curved perfectly to force the wood to the point of maximum leverage. This lopper is the choice of professionals. Larger cuts should be made with a quality pruning saw, such as a silky gomtero 300 mm or you begin damaging the remaining wood.
