Answer:	I just used an accusharp. About 10-15 strokes and it was sharp. I didn't use oil to sharpen it but after using it I use hopes gun oil to prevent corrosion seeing as it is not a stainless blade.

Answer:	I don't own the Tops 230 so I cannot give you an accurate side by side. With that being said I own many Tops knives and own a few products from Condor. In my opinion Tops blades are superior.
