Question:	Can tines be removed for narrower tilling area
Answer:	yes, but...the tines are an assembly of 3 held to the shaft with a through bolt. If you removed one assembly you could till with just one side, but the tiller is still over a foot wide and the empty shaft is still sticking out even without the tines. this is a powerful machine, I would look at a lighter, narrower tiller if you want to do a more narrow area.
Question:	Is 13.5 amps too much for a 15 amp circuit
Answer:	You will be fine on a 15A circuit. Recommendations from the manufacturer are 14/3 (14gauge 3conductor) extension cord for up to 50ft and 12/3 extension cord for up to 100ft. Total length should not exceed 100ft however I'm sure a 10/3 extension cord would be fine for more than 100ft but a 10/3 extension cord would be very expensive. Please be aware that the tiller pulls the most current with the tines are digging deep in the soil and the motor is bogging down and under extreme strain it's possible it might pop the breaker on a 15A circuit.

Answer:	depends on what type soil you have. My 13.5 amp will till our Missouri soil.after a rain, sun baked like concrete

Answer:	I live in Central Florida and it can handle At Augustine grass roots easy. If you have that or anything easier you will be fine. It is tougher than it looks!

Answer:	Some of the plastic heads will break and I would imagine some of the metal heads could be damaged. This machine is powerful but very easy to handle. I really like mine and it is easy to handle in tight places. Plastic pipes will be severely damaged if you hit them.

Answer:	One speed - and don't lug it down to slow the rotation or you'll most likely destroy the electric motor.

Answer:	Yes, my garden has a lot of clay. It handles it easily. The only thing that stops it is small rocks which wedge in the rotor. The are easily freed by a quick hand twist. Had it through two seasons and no problems.
Question:	Can I take out one blade and use only one blade
Answer:	Hi Jamie,The TJ599E has just one speed, with a push button safety and trigger on/off switch. The RPM is a guesstimate of about 150 RPM. The "cowl flair" just above the tiller blades acts like a mud flap, so it doesn't throw dirt backward. And as you tilt the handle more horizontal the back flared area prevents the tillers from going deeper in the ground. It is well built, great for a small garden or raised bed. I felt comfortable enough with it's control to use it close to plastic sprinkler pipes in my raised beds. It was designed for residential tilling, not for commercial tilling clay or dry hard ground. Ivy or roots can wind around the blades causing you to stop and untangle them. The one noted negative I found was the strength you have to push the safety button with your palm before pulling the switch in. It is on the left side, so being left handed, it is not easy to push it in. OTOH, it is a safety switch, for safety. Hopefully it will loosen up with use.

Answer:	I'm not sure if you can purchase a 2nd battery separately for the tiller, but I also purchased the Sun Joe 24V-AJC-LTE 24V 2.0-Amp Cordless Portable Air Compressor which has an identical battery. This is how I got my "2nd battery" for the tiller.
Question:	I have a backyard full of awful weeds, and I would like to get rid of them. Will this machine rip everything out so i can reseed for new law
Answer:	Yes. I used that specific application for a tight area. No problems. You will need to pay attention to a slightly unbalanced torque, but it is not unmanageable for a adult.
Question:	Does anybody know if this tiller would work well on a yard with St. Augustine grass? I need something to till a small yard so I can put new sod down
Answer:	I’m not sure where to buy a spare battery, because we did not keep our device very long because we felt it was poorly constructed and did not to the job it was intended to. Answer:	We only just purchased it this year, so we have had none so far. All I know is that it is an electric motor, so whatever is needed for electric motors might apply here.

Answer:	This will not rip everything out it will till it under you will still have to gather the dead weeds. it does make it easier to get them out though.
Question:	will these cut through ivy roots
Answer:	I used it on a St. Augustine yard where I needed to clear an area about 4 ft by 15 ft to plant shrubs. It worked well. One word of advice is that it seems to work much better when you go backwards. I had no problem controlling the depth going backwards. Forward seems to skip a lot. I did have to stop once and untangle some of the grass that wrapped around the tiller but I needed a break anyway so it wasn't much of a problem.
