Step 1. Using a 3/8" drill bit, drill a hole in the side of the container for each cup. 



Step 2. Remove any burrs or debris from around each drill hole. 



Step 3. Remove wingnut and insert cup assembly into the hole until the rubber washer contacts the outside of the container.



Step 4. Hold the cup in place ensure the correct position while screwing the wingnut onto the thread inside the bucket and tighten by hand.

Step 5. Thoroughly wash out the container after installation, to ensure that it is free of all residual debris. Dirt and plastic shavings may cause water cups to stop functioning correctly.



Step 6. Find a location to place or hang the container so the cups are at a suitable height for your birds.

Question:	How much water pressure low pressure operation
Answer:	Can't really answer your question about that. I think it's also a debate, depending on who you ask.. for example, I vape instead of smoke and vape liquid is made from it. So in my opinion it's the lesser of two evils. Likewise with chickens. I use this when one appears really sick. I figure at that point it's worth a shot. For me it's proven to be helpful. Sorry I can't be more help.

Answer:	Well... I compared the labels for swine and poultry nutri-drench, and both had the same percentage of vitamins and minerals, except the swine had zinc and the poultry had methionine. You may want to check online to see if either ingredient is safe for swine/poultry. This stuff works great!

They will get the hang of it once they start hitting the float and water slowly fills back up. There should not be any water in the bowls if the chickens are not drinking. If the bowls are full to the top all the time, they are leaking.

The nipple assembly screws right into your container with the help of the black installation bit. Drill a hole one inch up from the bottom of the container. Screw in the threaded chicken nipple so that when you are finished the nipple cup is at the bottom. Many other nipples retain water inside of them. Nipples that retain water are more likely to freeze in winter months. If you keep your water warm then it should be able to flow even in freezing temps. Question:	I need to replace the drinker cups as my chickens will not depress the "trigger" to let out more water. Will they need to peck at this
Answer:	They do need to activate these to make them work, they need to be nudged by the birds beak to release a little water. My birds didn't do well with the cups either but these work great. When I am first nipple training hens or chicks, I add 2 tablespoons of Karo syrup to a gallon of water before putting it in the waterers. I think at first they like the sweetness and it helps them learn the nipples because they WANT to activate them.

Answer:	There is no max pressure. It works by gravity. As the cup empties, it opens a valve to release water. Once the cup is full it shuts off the valve. I actually have my cups attached to a Home Depot bucket that has no prressure.

Answer:	When the cup is empty it is in the up position and is open for water to enter the cup as it fills the cup the cup gets heavy and goes down shutting off the water supply so as your chickens drink when it get lighter it fills when it gets heavier it shuts off you just need to have a constant water supply I installed a shut off valve in case a cup goes bad I can replace it .

Answer:	If you have trained your quail to use horizontal nipple waterers than you should be able to use this with them as the height is adjustable. The nipples don’t require a lot of force to get them to work. I used them with baby chicks and had no issues.
Question:	on what temp this heater turn to [ on ] & at what temp it shot [ off ]
Answer:	I can't guarantee anything, all I can say is I've had mine inside the chicken coop for 2 winters already. I have pine shaving on the entire floor, but 3-4 inches away from the 2 bricks that I set the base up on. The base does not put off heat that I can feel.
Question:	Can the metal be bent to fit into a smaller opening
Answer:	The published spec is 125 watts which calculates to 1.04 amps. Amps X Volts = Watts.

Answer:	I use mine with a 5 gallon galvanized poultry waterer. I sit the heater on some bricks to raise it. I live in Ohio and we have had 4 degree weather this year and the water has not freezed yet.

Question:	I assume you can use a plastic bucket or Rubbermaid water jug. Please advise. Also do the bucket have to hang
Answer:	I used a 5 gallon bucket and put a hose fitting on it and hung it outside on rafter of my coop. Ran hose inside and to PVC pipe that I put these into. I have a 90* joint so it is running down two sides of the coop and probably 7 or so nipples. Plenty water for my 20 birds with room for more without needing to add any more. I just fill the bucket once or twice a week. They work really well. I have part of the pipe at an angle so it is lower on one end for chicks. But you can also just put a few right into the bottom of a bucket and hang it.
Question:	Will this work with PVC connected to main water line? Not sure what is meant by 1 psi
Answer:	PSI - A HomeD bucket holds more than two gallons. H2O = 8.34 lbs/gallon8.34x2 = 16.68 lbs. If the nipple is at the bottom of the bucket the PSI of the water behind the nipple is Pi*r(squared) is 3.14*~6(squared), or 3.14*36 = 113.04 sq inches. So 16.68 lbs/113.04 sq inches = 0.146 psi (this is less than one PSI. Water pressure at a home is ~15 lbs/sq in. This is much higher than one PSI.
Question:	Would these work for chicks? Wonder how they would learn to use it, have you used this for chicks
Answer:	Yes they will work for chicks, as long as they are at the height that chicks can reach them. Chickens are curious so they will peck at everything. Eventually they would figure out where the water is.
Question:	Can these be installed horizontally? For instance, on the side of a bucket versus the bottom
Answer:	The water nipples must be installed on the bottom, I used 3 gallon buckets or you can use pvc pipes but they must be on the bottom.

Question:	I just installed 4 of them and only one allows water to come out when you bump the yellow piece. Can you please advise on what could be wrong
Answer:	Honestly I have no idea other that is may be clogged with debris from inside the barrel. I would not remove them unless absolutely necessary as you don't want to expand the holes. If you can I would try to blow out the holes from the inside with an air or water hose. Good luck
