| Answer: | Hooty_Hoo, The instructions say not to use pre-mixed fuels from service stations. However it says use synthetic 2 cycle oil and 90 octane. 87 octane worked fine in mine. Stihl sells sealed pre-measured containers of 2 cycle oil. I buy mine by the 6 pack. I use a ratio rite due to the mixture calling for 30-1. My other equipment uses 50-1. No matter what your equipment is, do what it says and your equipment will last for many years. If you don't have a ratio rite measuring container, buy one. They come in handy for other uses too. The money that you invest now preparing for the use of your equipment will save you from future grief. 6 pack of oil (more than needed)-$10.00. Fuel container-$8.00. 1 gal of gas-$2.30. Ratio Rite-$$Doesn't matter, you need one. Keep your gas fresh and mixed. You have a nice machine so protect it. All of my equipment runs as it should because I don't take chances. You'll be money ahead in the long run. Mix your own fuel. Know what you have. Hope this helps. |
