Answer:	Hi AmazonElle, The pencil lead contained in this kit are all graphite, just like a number two pencil. Harder leads (4H) contain more clay as a binder, softer leads (5B) contain less clay and are therefore softer and darker. The 5B is not as dark as charcoal but darker than most pencil leads. When used to make broad strokes on rough paper, the broken edge line looks similar to charcoal techniques. For comparison results note all sketches shown in the photos of this listing were made using these exact same leads.

Answer:	These are made in both China and India.
Question:	Where can you buy extra lead if you run out
Answer:	The 2mm leads used by and supplied with this kit are universal, non-propriatary to these pencils. So any lead pack sized 2mm (width) will work. Additionally MstrSktch will shortly be launching some refills of our own as some may prefer the graphite composition that comes with this kit.
Question:	How does the mechanism work? It says to click to extend, but I don't see any spring in the picture with the disassembled pencil to spring back
Answer:	The pencil works very much the same as mechanical pencils in the .5mm and .7mm variety with the the exception that the lead spits out a greater distance ( a little over 1/16” per click). The classic 2mm lead holder, which many are familiar with for this size lead, works by manually pulling the lead out to the desired length. This pencil can be used in that fashion as well or you can click to extend the lead in small 1/16” jumps. As the mechanism is internal, I can’t speak to whether or not it is a spring action but I can say it is spring like in the manner that is extends out with each click. This action is unidirectional (similar to tradtion .5mm pencils) which is to sat you can click to extend but to retract you need to hold click and push back up into the barrel manually. As the vendor, I can not post video but perhaps a previous purchaser might ...(hint hint:)

Question:	Why it there no eraser with these
Answer:	For 7 bucks for two pencils and two 10 packs of surprisingly good quality lead, there are going to be compromises. In this case , the pencil isn't strong enough to support the area where an eraser would be. The pressure needed to erase would probably result in breakage. It looks like knurled aluminum but is a fragile plastic. The only observable metal is the shirt clip. Regardless, this is a high value product for light duty use. If more durability is needed, you're going to need a more robust product.

Answer:	The gold lead holders have a rotating component that allows them to be labeled as holding refills of whichever variety you prefer. I like to have a 4H handy. The mechanical pencils can be refilled with any type of lead so long as it fits the appropriate size.

Answer:	There is no eraser on the pencil.

Answer:	Same as any mechanical pencil. If you plan on using the eraser you should keep it capped. Uncapped, it turns into a blunt, dirty mess from constantly pressing on it to advance the lead, and when you come to erase something that mess transfers directly to your paper. If the cap annoys you, keep a separate eraser next to you and use that instead. There are three small ones in this kit that work very well.

Answer:	No, it is HB, but you can easily (very easily) refill with 2h or any lead you desire. I loaded some with blue and red lead as well.

Question:	I can't figure out where the eraser is? I have the 4 replacement erasers but I can't figure out where the eraser is
Answer:	There is a silver colored cover over the eraser on the end opposite the pencil tip. This eraser cover is pulled off exposing the eraser. The eraser is stabilized by a “bilobed” silver sleeve folded to hold the eraser. When this eraser is finished, one would rmove the remnant and replace it with the replacement eraser. Basically, the eraser is beneath the chrome eraser cover.

Answer:	Two of the pencils are broken. Neither the 0.3 nor the 0.7 accept the lead. I am very disappointed.
