Answer:	The lid is hinged, but I would not recommend this box. The top of the lid is for pencils etc, but the lid does not hold shut, so if you don't want to be picking up what ever you store in it, you can't use it. Very cheaply made!

Answer:	1. Plastic safety tab should be intact, woven through numbered dials, and all three dials should be centered on zero = 000. 2. With safety tab still intact SLIDE square button away from numbered dials. This should result in release of latch into the open position. 3. Set Lock Combination - Vaultz® Combination Lock Instructions 1. Leave the latch in the open position. 2. Carefully cut and remove plastic safety tab 3. With latch still in the open position, SLIDE square button in towards numbered dials and HOLD it in this position. While holding the button, set each numbered dial one at a time. 4. Roll numbered dial down until you reach your desired 3 digit combination. Make sure the digits are centered across the middle of the lock assembly. 5. Now it is safe to release button 6. With latch still in the open position, scramble numbered dials by rolling them down off of your chosen combination code. At this time you should not be able to slide the square button away from the numbered dials (mimicking a locked latch). 7. Now, roll the numbered dials down and select your set combination digits/code. The square button should now easily slide away from the numbered dials (mimicking an unlocked latch). 8. At this time press latch down in to the closed position and begin the use of your new Vaultz® Security Storage Product. * Once you change the combination from 000 to your new number, you will be the only person that can open the box. Towards the Side of the Sensor

Place and scan your finger on the rightmost side of the sensor. Make sure at least 2/3rd of your fingerprint is on the sensor or else the biometric module will not detect it.

Scan your finger at the leftmost side of the sensor as well.

Horizontally on the Sensor

Place your finger horizontally on the sensor with your finger pointing to the right. The walls surrounding the module will prevent you from fully pressing your finger to the sensor. To successfully register your fingerprint, simply press the tips of your finger (the top 2/3rd) as firmly as you can to the sensor.

Scan in the opposite direction with your finger pointing to the left.

Higher and Lower on the Sensor

Place your finger high on the sensor. Make sure at least 2/3rd of your fingerprint is on the sensor or else the biometric module will not detect it. The very tip of your finger should not be on the sensor.

You should also position and scan your finger low on the sensor. Only the top 2/3rd of your fingerprint should be on the sensor.

Question:	How do I set the password I want, is there a manual
Answer:	That would depend on the barrel length of the 357. A 4 inch barreled gun would fit for sure. A 6 inch would probably fit, but not an 8 inch barrel or bigger. Hope this helps.
Question:	what exactly is the fireproof material
Answer:	Not standard 8/12 x 11 unless you folded it in half, I had a very limited space to fit a safe in. That was my guide. Beyond the space limitations I have problems with this safe, every time I dont go into it for a couple of weeks, it wont open. I have to use the key and reset the bio,couple of weeks later the same thing, Maybe I got stuck with a defective mechanism but i havnt been able so far to find a replacement in this specific size

Answer:	No, there is no room for another storage shelf. The safe is big enough for a hand gun and magazines to fit with room to spare and some documents.
