Answer:	It's not soft but it's not hard if that makes sense. I love mine for everyday use I keep my ID, key card for work and a credit card. After that wait 2 minutes with the pen upside down to let the ink flow through.

Answer:	This innovative accessory is able to hold one 30 mil card in the front and either two 30 mil cards or one 60 mil card in the back

Answer:	A metal clip connects the lanyard to the holder. I would recommend getting a plastic clip however as the metal one eats away at the plastic loop on the card holder and will eventually break it from normal usage.
Question:	Will it hold "fewer" cards than 3 without them falling out? That is, does it need all three to keep any secure
Answer:	Yes. I have 2 cards. They are secure and there's a lever on the back to release each card from its slot. Hope that helps!
Question:	Will front card scan a card reader at work without pulling it out
