Question:	Is there an emergency override to the lock? My code no longer works
Answer:	From what ive read, there is no way to unlock the box if you have forgotten you code. However, a little tid bit for you to possibly help you on your journey of oopening it again. A typical code of 1, 6, 2, 7, 3 is the same as say 5, 0, 4, 9, 3. Basically the code registers "sides" but provides numbers for you to better disguise the code. So if your code was 12675 then its really left side, left side, right side, right side, left side. So basically pressing 1 as your first number in reality you could press the 5 and it be the same. So as long as you press a number on the same side as what you thought you originally programmed it as then you may eventually get it back unlocked. Not exactly the answer you were looking for but atleast its something you can run with until you crack it.
Question:	how to change code
Answer:	You can change the code - This assumes you used your old code and got the lid separated from the box - pull of the white Kidde plastic plate off to reveal the set screws and corresponding button numbers - Get your magnifier glass out - look very closely at each screw to reveal the directional arrow - which is almost invisible to the naked eye. Stand the lid with the key holder up - (1 off 6) on the instructional plate. Then with a screw driver align all the arrows on the screw straight up. That means all the 10 screws are in the off position. Then press clear on the Front of the lid. Now write the numbers you want to use as your new code. (A birthday might help memory usage) Next with your screw driver, on the screw side of the lid, turn only the numbers you want to use in the on position down or in the opposite direction (0 on 5). Now press the clear on the other side of the lid. Time to test push the number pins in your new code and try the open button. You will see both the open and the clear buttons move and the lock moves inside the device to lock. Put your key(s) on the holder place the Kidde white screw cover back on and you are good to go. You must put the code in. Hold the OPEN button down on the lid until you position the lid on the box bottom first never releasing the open button until it is in the lock position. You cannot open the box without a working code.

Answer:	Mine worked about a week. The first amazon person to help me was expecting me to go through the company that manufactured it! Then I was to send back with my key in it! Finally I got someone that got realistic and refunded me. Good luck! I was very unhappy as I had read all reviews.

Answer:	Perhaps with a hammer and chisel On the side of the lid will pop it open.There is no way to reset the code nor is there an override code. You can always try to guess. At least it doesnt lock you out after so many wrong tries.

Answer:	I have had problems with three of the original seven p1210 model First Alert 10-year battery smoke detectors. I have contacted customer service twice and learned that the p1210 model number has been replaced by p710, the representative didn't say why but said they are the same model. I had purchased another First Alert 10-year battery smoke detector from Lowe's that had identical packaging to the p1210 however there was no model number on the package, I told this to the representative and he seemed surprised. The manual had p1210 on it.

Answer:	I don’t fully understand the question. If you wanted it for a pile of some sorts I suppose it would work. It’s a very simple item. Has a rubber backing to grip but not mark the wall or surface. Is 4” and has a round recess to accommodate different brands of pressure style gates. I believe it had a hole through that you could put a screw through to secure the item for other uses or hold on wall. I personally didn’t because the pressure of gate held against wall with no sliding. I hope this helps.

Answer:	Hello Courtney - I recently purchased 80 of these locks. My best advice is this... premium batteries = best results. We tried using Amazon batteries to begin with however there is no way of physically seeing the expiration date / life date prior to making the purchase so... our batteries are expiring quickly. As we have started to replace them we have switched to a very expensive very high end long life battery with MUCH better results. Keep this in mind, even if your batteries die you can access the lock with a 9V batterie externally. There are two metal spots on the bottom of the lock, hold the 9V conductive points to those metal spots (not particular direction) and start the process of entering your code. It works easier with 2 people but can be done alone. Also easier if you send someone with you a Bluetooth key. So, you can actually never be locked out! This company is extremely responsive and has a great customer service department who will stay on the phone with you and walk you through the process. Answer:	There is no override manual key, so if you lose the code you will have to try the 10,000 possible combos... why I do is open up a document on my phone and then lock the document. Or put in a safe place...

Answer:	I didn't attach it to my wall. It is hanging from my doorknob. It is a little heavy but there is some industrial-strength velcro strips that might hold it up. I know each strip can hold 10 lb and it's worked very well for me in situations like this. Only thing is, if it's outdoors, you have to worry about the theft. Answer:	I may say yes, the latch came apart totally that give you space to placed anywhere, It seems to be water-resistant, I am a Realtor and use it for doorknobs, not really in constant exposure to possible water.

Answer:	Most likely overtime, anything banging/hanging against the door would mark it up. But this lock box does have a heavy rubber backing which seems to minimize scratches from happening.
