Answer:	I use these with pens that are quite a bit thicker than a pencil. Instead of struggling with it, I apply a very small amount of lotion to the inside of the grip, which works great. I do this because I use them with pens and need to put the caps on when they're not in use and it was a chore to take the grips on and off every time.
