Answer:	The Aidata surface actually runs under the desk surface it is clamped to. I couldn't clamp it to my kitchen/dining table. There wasn't enough room for the clamp to hook on to. Hope this helps!

Answer:	It does not lock in position, but it remains in position and doesn't move unless you want it to move. Unit works very well.
Question:	I see it can clamp up to 1.5 inches, but what is the thinnest that it can secure onto
Answer:	Mine is secured on a platform that is about 7/8". If it is thinner than that, you can always put a small piece of wood between the clamp and the platform to make up the difference.

Answer:	No, it doesn't come with pads. The upper and lower surfaces are, indeed, the same type of plastic as the mouse surface which does have a soft thin felt-like surface; in fact with the high humidity, mine has started to lift up a bit - it's okay: it has gone through thousands of hours of use, and is easy to repair, when that day comes, just by making a template from self-sticking felt from the craft store. What i'd suggest for your glass table, is: you're probably familiar with the "felt feet" that one puts on the bottom of vases, etc., to protect surfaces, such as glass. Well, this would require two thicker 1" or slightly larger 1-1/2". i just bought some of these at Ace Home Depot et al, to put on the legs of a table, so that the legs/feet wouldn't scratch new tile and slide easier if pushed. They work like a charm! The 1" felt pads are self-sticking - and would easily adhere to the plastic clamp of the Aidata Mouse.i just love the Aidata Mouse Platform, and ordered another one to use on a different desk. The platform frees up so much surface space that can now be used for paper/pens/phone, and other necessary things we like to have nearby.Hope you love your new Aidata Mouse as much as i do! i wouldn't hesitate using it on a glass table, -- but like you, i'd want to protect the glass. The self-adhesive felt pads would be ideal - and if you're uncertain of the size or thickness you need depending on the thickness of your table top, you can always measure the thickness and take the clamp itself to your local hardware store and size them up. The 1" felt pads were about $3 for a package of four.FYI - On any surface, probably true for any clamping device - even a 'gooseneck lamp' - just periodically tighten the clamp - as with anything that gets rotated or used as often as my mouse platform, i just turn that bottom "cover" of the clamp structure, counter-clockwise as per the directions, to lock it, and ensure the tightness of the grip. If not, the bottom cover cap will fall, NOT the Mouse Platform - just the bottom clamp cover - the Platform stays in place and it's a very lightweight circle of plastic - with gripping capabilities, that secure and cover the bottom of the clamp. To remove the platform, all you'd do is rotate the bottom cover clockwise, and loosen unscrew the clamp to remove the unit entirely. The felt feet would only be on the parts that touch your glass, and wouldn't interfere with Mouse Platform, nor with any surface you otherwise choose to use the mouse platform on. Just keep the felt pads on there. Therefore, the unit would be absolutely portable for you. Have fun!By adding the inexpensive felt pads, $3 for four 1" circles of felt 'feet' purchased locally, you can enjoy the Mouse Platform and have no fear of scratches to your table.

Question:	Is this rigid? In other words, can I used it on a soft surface like a pillow and not have it bend
Answer:	It is not rigid (e.g. glass surface would be rigid) but it is thick enough for using on soft surfaces. I use it that way all the time. It will work on a pillow as well.
