I think the pad would work well with a standard wood pencil, but it might not be great for the thin lead in a mechanical pencil. The ballpoint pen I think would be okay. A fountain pen would work great with this pad, just don’t let the ink leak through the paper as it may stain.
Question:	If this desk protector comes rolled up, will it lay flat at both ends of desk or be turned up
