That was what it was hooked up to when I 1st tried to put in the 1 touch phone numbers, but I tried it at my home on a land line and had the same problem. But it should not make any difference. I returned it for a refund and ordered a version of the same concept by Clarity. Reviews were not great on it also, but I guess I will find out. Seems like such a great concept, so why does someone just spend another few bucks more and manufacture a quality version? Good luck

Therefore, two buttons need to be pushed to call one person that is already programmed.Note: on the phone we received the photo call button is NOT RED - it is white with red print.My mother in law can't see very well and the "0" button was blacked along with a black line under the photo call button. Also, no photos were placed in the numbers - just LARGE first letter of each person and then balance written small. Answer:	I don't see a significant difference. The TL86597 has a indicator on the front to let you the status. One not the TL86597 does state do not use with surge protector. The surge protector interferes with the signal. So if you use power strips and have issues you may want to remove them.

In that case you will get noise on the line, if you get a signal at all. I would get new ones if their mission is critical. If not, give the old ones a shot.

Answer:	If your 2-wire 2701 DSL modem will work properly when connected to a standard RJ-11 connection; then, the GE-26191 duplex wall jack will also work. Only restriction is that only device can be 'off hook' at a time. The GE-26191 duplex wall jack just lets one have the opportunity to use two devices, one-at-a-time, without removing one Telco cord and replacing it with a second Telco cord.

Question:	Can the landline phone be mounted to the wall and if so, how many inches does it stick out from the wall
Answer:	We have not had an outage since I have owned this, but since it is a land-line phone I assume the phone will work on the old type phone lines, but maybe not the answering unit. (This is why some keep a landline phone for another kind of security.) I am definitely not a techie so double check this.
Question:	Does the base unit have to be plugged in for caller id
Answer:	The remote handset no but has speaker phone. The base has the plug in handset which can be removed so I am assuming a headset jack that can answer and hang up the phone may work
Question:	Does this come with the charger adapter that plugs into an outlet
Answer:	I don't see one on the base or hands-free sets.
Question:	Corded base works during a power failure
Answer:	I can confirm, except for the cordless handset, yes, it does! We don't have reliable power in the deep cold of winter or the hottest times in summer, which is why we always keep a landline. It won't work if your phones company is cable, however. Nor will you see the displays when the electric goes out but, this type of phone is essential for potential emergencies.

Answer:	Yes it will hang vertically. The dial pad is very easy to use, and it does not have a lot of extra buttons. The only warning I have is that this thing rings VERY LOUD. My dogs all start crying and howling when it rings. Otherwise, it is a very sturdy phone and durable. It has been knocked off and dropped more times than I can count.
Question:	Does this phone dial a preset number when the phone is taken off the hook? Can i set my own emergency number, or it only dials
Answer:	I'm not sure. I only used it for about a week. The phone was cheaply made and had all kinds of background noises when using it. I would not recommend this phone at all.
Question:	How heavy is the base? I need it to sit on the chalk tray next to my desk in my classroom
Answer:	The base is extremely light and won’t stay in place with any pull on the cord. I opened up the base and glued weights to the inside. It is heavy enough to stay in place now.
Question:	Does this phone work with voip
Answer:	I never tried it on voip but see no reason it won’t. Just a phone. I’ve had wire and cable service an both worked well. I will say that the base is very light. I opened it and glued in some heavy metal strips to give it some heft.
