Answer:	Yes, What I do is open the 5LB of flour and kinda let it slide into the container still in the bag. works great. the sugar I pour the 4LB bag without the bag into the container. Answer:	We have not had an outage since I have owned this, but since it is a land-line phone I assume the phone will work on the old type phone lines, but maybe not the answering unit. (This is why some keep a landline phone for another kind of security.) I am definitely not a techie so double check this.

One handset offers 5 levels of amplification and Equalization to provide clearer conversations. CD5012 provides up to 10dB of volume boost and Hearing Aid Type 3.3+ compatibility. The CD5012 operates in an interference-free DECT 6.0 range. You can register up to four cordless handsets with one base. Hold a 3-way conference call or make intercom calls with other handsets. The base dock is also equipped with an answering machine. An incoming caller can record up to 30 minutes of messages. Motorola also supports Call waiting with Caller ID. You can filter incoming calls without picking up the line. *NOTE: You need to subscribe first to your Network Service provider's Call Waiting CID services.
