Answer:	This item is simply a hard-shell case for the Epson WorkForce Scanner; the scanner itself is sold separately. (When I purchased the scanner, it only came with a soft case, which didn't protect it well enough for travel.) To answer your question, yes, you can scan an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper with the scanner.
Question:	where are the linux drivers
Answer:	The case is zippered and it measures 11 inches long x 2 1/4 inches wide on the right side. I have a Epson DS-30 portable scanner and it fits perfectly. On the left inside it measures the same, but there is a netted pocket that stores the USB cord to the scanner. If you use your scanner on the go like I do, I would definitely recommend this case, its durable & sturdy. The felt bag that came with the scanner is just a dust cover as far as I'm concerned. Answer:	I used a HP scanner before and was not happy. This scanner works very quickly. The quality of the scans are excellent. I hope this helps. I just finished scanning over 30 yrs. worth of pictures.
Question:	Can you use this scanner independently of a computer? Does it have a memory chip slot
Answer:	There is no memory slot. There is one usb port on the back which connects to my computer. Try http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Overview&oid=139863 or Go to Epson.com, select scanners and follow the prompts (drivers and support / scanners/) , then Search for "V600". When the search responds , click Epson Perfection V600 and it will take you to the manuals. I hope you can get your answer there.
Question:	How long does it take to scan 35mm negatives at maximum resolution
Answer:	I'm using it right now, and it takes about 3-4min per 35mm frame at 2400 DPI with Digital ICE enabled. For 10 frames at this setting, it takes about 20 minutes. This does not include the time it takes to preview the images first, then customize the exposure settings for each one to maximize the output; that usually takes me an extra 5-15min. The scanner can only hold two 6-frame sections of 35mm film at a time. All told, it takes me about 1-2 hours to process and scan each roll of 35mm film with this scanner. If you just want quick images and don't want to adjust anything, it can scan 10 frames in about 8 minutes at 300DPI with full auto settings and no ICE.
Question:	Will this scanner convert negatives to prints
Answer:	It is part of a solution which can do that, but it will not do so on its own. You need a computer, a photo-grade printer (with appropriate photo paper in whatever sizes you want to print), of course ink for the printer... and software which runs on your computer to do the task. By default, when scanning negatives, the color is inverted on the scanner, while when doing slides, it is not. The scanned images are provided to your computer for further tweaking, and then saving and/or printing. You can do low-res images, suitable for on-screen display (usually 24-bit jpg files at screen resolution) or high-res, deep-color images (usually 48-bit tif files in the 4k x 3k resolution range), suitable for poster-size prints. What this won't do is do all the intermediate steps for you. Some work on your end will be required...

Answer:	Not sure of the name ,but the lower the number the lighter the color
Question:	What is the maximum resolution
Answer:	Ivory is the lightest.
Question:	Is the scanning surface flush with the area around it? or is there a lip of some kind? Can oversized originals sit flat on the glass
Answer:	Yes, I think you will be able to find a light enough color. My skin is light but has a peachy tone and I was able to find the right color.

Answer:	8 1/2 wide x a little more than 11 tall - basically letter size (8 1/2 x 11).
Question:	Is there Linux support
Answer:	I have scanned many different sizes of photos, black and white and color, because I am organizing old photos from the 1800s and 1900s onward for a family photo book so we can all have copies with descriptions and family tree placement. I have also done documents, so I am very happy with this scanner.
Question:	Does this product have enough space to fit a Vinyl sleeve in it
Answer:	Bought mine last year. Works great, but recently when I tried the PDF scan nothing happened. Got the windows 10 download for the scanner from Epson, installed it and now everything works fine.
