Answer:	The Sunbeams are wound on round cores (the Rare's are wound on hexagonal cores). The Sunbeam's are described as musically bright and rich sounding, whereas the Rare's are described as loud and warm. A full description of each can be found on our website. Thanks!
Question:	Does this slide holder have the anti-newton ring (anr) glass that is installed on the oem holders for the v800 and v850 model
Answer:	No, they are some type of metal alloy with a coating...I believe you want classical acoustic guitar strings for nylon. Hope this helps,.good luck.

Question:	I have tons of photos I want to digitally convert onto my computer.I'm using my hp printer's scanner, however it takes forever. Is this any faster
Answer:	I used a HP scanner before and was not happy. This scanner works very quickly. The quality of the scans are excellent. I hope this helps. I just finished scanning over 30 yrs. worth of pictures.
Question:	Can you use this scanner independently of a computer? Does it have a memory chip slot
Answer:	There is no memory slot. There is one usb port on the back which connects to my computer. Try http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Overview&oid=139863 or Go to Epson.com, select scanners and follow the prompts (drivers and support / scanners/) , then Search for "V600". When the search responds , click Epson Perfection V600 and it will take you to the manuals. I hope you can get your answer there.
Question:	How long does it take to scan 35mm negatives at maximum resolution
Answer:	I'm using it right now, and it takes about 3-4min per 35mm frame at 2400 DPI with Digital ICE enabled. For 10 frames at this setting, it takes about 20 minutes. This does not include the time it takes to preview the images first, then customize the exposure settings for each one to maximize the output; that usually takes me an extra 5-15min. The scanner can only hold two 6-frame sections of 35mm film at a time. All told, it takes me about 1-2 hours to process and scan each roll of 35mm film with this scanner. If you just want quick images and don't want to adjust anything, it can scan 10 frames in about 8 minutes at 300DPI with full auto settings and no ICE.
Question:	Will this scanner convert negatives to prints
Answer:	It is part of a solution which can do that, but it will not do so on its own. You need a computer, a photo-grade printer (with appropriate photo paper in whatever sizes you want to print), of course ink for the printer... and software which runs on your computer to do the task. By default, when scanning negatives, the color is inverted on the scanner, while when doing slides, it is not. The scanned images are provided to your computer for further tweaking, and then saving and/or printing. You can do low-res images, suitable for on-screen display (usually 24-bit jpg files at screen resolution) or high-res, deep-color images (usually 48-bit tif files in the 4k x 3k resolution range), suitable for poster-size prints. What this won't do is do all the intermediate steps for you. Some work on your end will be required...

Question:	Can this scanner scan negatives in other sizes besides 35mm? I have many old negatives from my parents/grandparents (pre 1960) in a variety of sizes
Answer:	I have a V850 Pro and I think the tray fits the 800 and 850. I really don't know the answer.

Answer:	No it does not. The slide frame is all plastic. Only the negative holders have glass in them.
Question:	Can you place four 4x6 pictures on the scanner and have it scan to 4 image files automatically rather than doing them one at a time

Question:	Does this produce prints or digital photos
Answer:	Mounted? Probably not. The large area is 6x22cm = 2.38=" x 8+". I'm thinking of this unit for 2.25"x3" transparencies I'm buying on Ebay. Pretty sure it will work for me. Or, why even use the holder for a larger neg or trans (ie 4x5)? Shouldn't it work just laying it on top of platen glass?

Question:	So load a slide tray and the software will cut them out and save each one in a seperate file? Can you load on several photos and auto cut into files
Answer:	You have to select the correct film type you are scanning, but yes it will convert the colors to make a color photo. The choices of film type are 135, 126 or 110.
Question:	how does this compare to the Plustek for 35mm scans
Answer:	It comes with a usb cable. Mine downloads or uploads to my computer and the photo editor.
Question:	How do you use the fluid mount tray?. Does the film get wet?. Can you use it without the fluid ?. Thank you
Answer:	Photo quality is based largely in the quality of the camera that look the original photo, but yes.
Question:	Anybody own the V600 and this one and can offer an opinion on the difference? I can read the specs, interested in your direct experience

Question:	What is the tv jack for? the manual said it is a phone jack, but none of tv has a phone plug
Answer:	While it's true that camera "film" can't be exposed to light, DEVELOPED film becomes a "negative", which CAN be exposed to light. So far, I've converted about 200 35 mm slides to digital photos without any problems. I haven't tried using negatives yet, but I'm sure the result will be the same. It's a fantastic little machine.
Question:	Can this scan 120 film
Answer:	With a Mac, you have to save images to an SD card or the device's built-in memory (only 128 MB). Then you choose USB Upload and you can transfer the images to your computer.
Question:	Are the Reels for 8mm film scanning included or are they an extra cost? None are shown in the advertisement
Answer:	I'm not sure about that as I have only produced a digital image from a negative.
Question:	Does this connect to the computer to save the photos onto hard drive or do you need the SD card
Answer:	Not being an expert on the computer, I am not sure what "ntsc" means, but I do NOT use an sd card with my Kodak Scanner. I have the scanner plugged directly into my laptop, and the digital images go straight to the E drive, from where I easily put them into folders under My Pictures. So far I have done about 1,100 slides, and I am so very happy with the quality of the digital images. I also have had fun editing for brightness and color. Answer:	Not sure. I went through the manual and found no reference to 127. I only used it for 35mm slide format which also included 126 film cut into a 35mm slide. I will try to convert some photos when I can get some. Could not have been more pleased with ease of operation or results.

Answer:	This is an high quality photographic scanner of printed images and photographic films with automatic film control.So it produces digitsl copies and not printouts on paper

Answer:	Yes, this scanner can scan negatives besides 35mm. It comes with a holder to neatly hold 35mm film, and it also comes with a holder to neatly hold 120 film (120 film is a medium format film, most common I'd say around the 1940s - 1960s, it's usually 6 cm wide, but the length of each individual shot can vary). It is *possible*, but not very easy, to scan other formats of film on here (such as 126 film or 110 film). The reason it's not very easy is because the scanner does not come with a designated holder to hold negatives of those sizes, so you basically just have to lay the negative on the glass, and try to get the edges of the negative to not curl up too much, and pray that you're laying it down exactly straight so that it doesn't scan at an angle (the film holders are designed so that the film is lined up exactly straight).

Answer:	I disagree. You need to have .8-1.0" between each photo and 4-4x6 photos won't fit on the glass with those spaces. You can do 4 manually by selecting the scan area in "normal" mode, but that adds time. It's far easier to do 2 at a time and use "thumbnail" mode to automatically select the scan areas for each photo. It only takes 45-50 seconds to scan 2 at 600 dpi.
