Answer:	I use it on Linux Mint 18.3 with no problems. Make sure the USB hub you plug it into has sufficient power. You can use dmesg to see if it is recognized and working properly.

Question:	I purchased and just received this scanner. it came with an rs-232 cable, not a usb. it does not plug in and work - looking for setup info
Answer:	You should be able to download and print the LS2208 Quick Start Guide which will have the barcodes needed to set up the RS-232 interface. However, we ship all of our LS2208 scanners with a USB cable because that is what most users want. If you prefer a USB cable I would suggest contacting the seller that you bought from about swapping it out.

Answer:	Hello! The 5-beep ascending fast chirp sound means that you have pressed the trigger and the scanner is now awake and waiting for you to read barcodes. If the light on the back of the scanner is solid blue then it also means that it is connected to a device. If it is off then it means the scanner is not paired to any device yet. You get the buzzing/vibrations when pressing the trigger. It means that the scanner successfully scanned a barcode you were trying to read. Both of these can be turned off by scanning the "Sound off" / "Vibration off" barcodes from the plastic card that comes with the scanner.
