Once I opened the vacuum poly-pack it required about 20 hours for each panel to expand to normal size. Each panel was then exactly 2" x 12" x 12" so my 12-pack of panels was exactly 12 square feet of coverage. I used spray adhesive to mount to cardboard squares and then screwed each square to the ceiling of a closet that I had installed a dust collection system in. The sound insulation was pretty good. He might not even realize he's being too loud, since headphones block out a lot of sound (like earplugs). If you can't talk to ppl to resolve conflicts, you'll never be able to live with anyone, not just those you don't respect. Also, the green Mack earplugs work pretty well and are much more affordable than proper noise reduction if he doesn't care even after you guys talk it out. Good luck!

Can you lay these down on top of open loft ceilings

Answer:

I have same situation, i am renting, and i am buying thick cardboard, or poster boards, or flattened boxes, and I will apply or glue these sound proof tiles on to the thick cardboard, and then, I will get very long nails and nail this to the wall. I have not yet decided, if i will nail right THROUGH these white foam tiles? or----------- just nail the cardboard to wall, and later glue the white foam tiles onto the cardboard...? And then, when i move from this rental, it will all come down and off by removing the nails. I might even be able to take it all with me to next apt!? haha. And all I will have to repair on old wall when i move ?----------will be several nail holes to fill in, but no glue to remove.
