13 best wireless guitars
Wireless guitars, also known as wireless guitar systems, are devices used by guitarists and other musicians to transmit the audio signal from their electric guitars to amplifiers or audio systems without the need for traditional guitar cables. These systems are commonly used in live performances, allowing for greater mobility and freedom on stage. Here's what you need to know about wireless guitars:
Components: A wireless guitar system typically consists of two main components: a transmitter and a receiver.
Transmitter: The transmitter is connected to the guitar. It captures the audio signal from the guitar's pickups and converts it into a wireless signal, which is then transmitted to the receiver.
Receiver: The receiver is connected to an amplifier, sound system, or effects pedals. It receives the wireless signal from the transmitter and converts it back into an audio signal that can be sent to the amplifier for amplification and further processing.
Wireless Technology: Wireless guitar systems use various wireless technologies, including UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency) bands, as well as digital wireless systems. These technologies provide reliable and interference-free transmission of audio signals.
Freedom of Movement: The primary advantage of wireless guitar systems is the freedom of movement they offer to guitarists on stage. Musicians can move around without being tethered to a cable, enhancing their stage presence and performance.
Range: Wireless guitar systems have a specific operating range, which varies depending on the model and technology used. It's essential to choose a system with a range suitable for your performance needs.
Battery Life: The transmitter and receiver in a wireless guitar system are typically battery-powered. Musicians should ensure that the batteries are adequately charged or have replacements on hand to avoid interruptions during performances.
Audio Quality: High-quality wireless guitar systems are designed to maintain the integrity of the guitar's audio signal. Look for systems that offer good signal-to-noise ratios and minimal latency to ensure a clean and natural sound.
Compatibility: Ensure that the wireless guitar system you choose is compatible with your guitar and amplifier or sound system.Different systems may use different types of connectors, so compatibility is crucial.
Frequency Bands: Some wireless guitar systems allow for multiple frequency channels to avoid interference, making them suitable for use in crowded wireless environments or in locations with multiple wireless devices.
Durability and Build Quality: Consider the durability and build quality of the transmitter and receiver, especially if you plan to use the system for regular live performances. Robust construction can withstand the rigors of touring and stage use.
Price Range: Wireless guitar systems come in various price ranges, with options available for both budget-conscious musicians and professionals. Higher-priced systems often offer advanced features and improved reliability.
In conclusion, wireless guitar systems provide musicians, especially guitarists, with the convenience of cable-free performance while maintaining audio quality and reliability. When choosing a wireless guitar system, consider factors such as range, audio quality, compatibility, battery life, and durability to find the system that best suits your musical needs.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this transmitter fit into the surface plug on an Ibanez SR |
Answer: | It also work with a 9V battery , Model: 6F22 |
Question: | Does it have a headphone jack so that it can be used without an amp for practice |
Answer: | With guitars this short, you're better off tuning it higher. It'll maintain string tension better from my understanding. I think it's usually a fourth higher. Like having a capo at the 5th fret of a standard guitar. So the 1 and 6 strings are tuned to A rather than E. |
Question: | Would two sets of these work for a guitar>pedal board> amp? To make a fully wire less rig |
Answer: | Depends on his height. If he’s a bit small or standard height for his age, it will be great. If he’s big for his age, it might be s gamble. |
Question: | How natural does this sound on a fine acoustic guitar using a piezzo/preamped pickup like fishman or lr baggs |
Answer: | It dose not have a truss rod |

Question: | Can I use this from mixer to powered speakers for audio and live voice? Wanna get rid of cables to speakers |
Answer: | Never tried that before and not sure it will work, but worth a try. |
Question: | Do they work with a guitar with active pickups |
Answer: | We do not suggest to leave them in charging too long, because this will harm the battery, and also there is a safety risk as always. Actually speaking, there is power indicator LED lights on the back side, which will remind you when it is in lower power and need charging, or it is full and no need charging any more, so that you will not forget to charge them, or over-charging them. |
Question: | can you use 4 sets of these at same time? when we try more than 3 we get interference |
Answer: | The manual shows an example of 1 receiver and 4 guitar pedals (w/transmitter), implying a practical multi transmitter setup. If 1 receiver is used, and multiple transmitters are connected on the same channel (ex, 1 bass, 1 uke, 1 violin all on channel 3) as long as they're not used simultaneously, would they function properly? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Csn i use with acoustic with battery powered preamps |
Answer: | Yes, I have used this with several strats and it works great. |
Question: | Can't I use a 1/8 adaptor and plug into my phone to play music thru my amplifier |
Answer: | It is quite poor for me. I wouldn't trust it for more than 45 minutes to an hour. Usually it's the transmitter that powers out on me. I suspect they cheap out on the batteries and so they don't retain their longevity. |
Question: | Are there any issues with leaving them plugged in on a rack w/usb ports so i never need to remember to charge them |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Q: How many transmitters can one receiver support? If more than one, can I buy the transmitters separately |
Answer: | We have two pastors using wireless microphones and there is no problem with interference. |

Answer: | You probably have to purchase a new set bud. They aren’t meant to last forever. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Have you ever noticed a bit of static/ noise that fades when you first strike a note after a few moments of silence |
Answer: | If Ibanez SR300 has 6.35mm jack, our GWS-8 guitar wireless can be applied to this guitar!Thank you for supporting our wireless guitar! |
Question: | This wireless guitar systems sometimes makes strange noises while in use |
Answer: | Dear Freind, Thank you for your friendly inquiry about Getaria wireless guitar system. What a shame! There is no 3.5 audio jack on the wireless guitar transmitter side, so you can't plug any headphone jack into the Getaria wireless guitar system, we suggest you a set of Getaria wireless guitar transmitter and receiver in this situation. |
Question: | I found my wireless guitar systems cannot be charged properly |
Answer: | Yes, this will work. You can put a pair of these anywhere you would use a signal cable. I chained 3 pair to see if they would flake out and they did fine. Pair the one from the guitar to the pedal board, then pair the one from the pedal board to the amp. You can also pair the one from the pedal board to the amp and a third from the amp line out to the mixer. Granted this is not how you would usually go from the amp to the mixer, but it works. Do not plug it into anything that would normally take a speaker wire. That will fry it as there is amperage on the line. |
Question: | Can 2 transmitters send to one receiver |
Answer: | I play nylon guitars exclusively...my best is a Amin Hannika Torres with no amplification, so I use that as a standard. I have a Gary Zimnicki with a non-amplified piezo that goes direct to my AER60. It sounds the same whether I use a high quality cable of the Getaria in a concert/club setting; in the studio there is a slight drop-off that most listeners could not discern. I also use a 2002 Ramirez a/e with a Fishman preamp and piezo (i never use the microphone component); I cannot tell the difference between cable or Getaria mainly because the preamp changes the clear acoustic quality - not bad or good, just not like an unamplified guitar. As an aside, I have a Taylor with espresso system, an L5 that I put P90s on, and a 5620 Gretsch with black top histones, and on all of them the Gertaria is great, no hum, no noise, no interference. But the big thing for me in all settings - live, studio, rehearse, practice - is have NO cord to tangle, step on or buzz. I don't give recommendations, but I bought 2 sets of these to have while one is charging, and will buy them again if these break. I've used them for about 4 months. |

Answer: | Never had a problem like that with my set. Maybe send it back for a replacement? |
Question: | How's the battery life after using this regularly for several months? Any idea if the rechargable battery is replaceable? Thank you |

Answer: | The wireless system divides the working frequency into 4 channels in order to avoid mutual interference, you need to set each pair occupy the same channel while in use, so your set your bass player's channel at the default channel one and set the guitar player at channel two. Radically Simple Design
We designed Relay G10 to be as easy to use as a standard guitar cable. Just plug in your guitar, and the transmitter and receiver select the optimum channel and lock together automatically. If you perform with multiple guitars, G10 makes it faster than ever to switch instruments on the fly—the transmitter is compatible with all types of guitars and transfers from one to the next in seconds. Plus, a separate XLR output and 1/4” output gives you greater flexibility in how you route your signal.
Fast and Simple Recharging
Some wireless systems use external batteries, which quickly gets expensive. Others require bulky and cumbersome charging stations. Relay uses a durable rechargeable transmitter that provides up to 6 hours of playing time on a single charge. When it’s not in use, G10 automatically goes into sleep mode, extending battery life up to 150 hours. And when you’re ready to recharge, simply dock the transmitter on the receiver. It’s the easiest and fastest way to recharge your system.
Get the Most Out of Your Performance
Relay is packed with innovative technology to fuel your performance. You’ll experience the same character and feel of a standard guitar cable thanks to innovative Cable Tone technology. Relay G10 also eliminates distracting pops when you plug in your guitar—the system only transmits signal once you’re completely connected. Finally, an illuminated receiver makes it easy to view sync and battery status at a glance.
Relay G10
For guitarists, nothing is more important than tone. We’ve been building guitar wireless longer than anyone else, and Relay is the only system that delivers your tone without compression or compromise. Featuring wider frequency response, next-generation technology, and more dynamic range than other wireless systems, Relay ensures that your signal gets to your amp in its purest form.
2.4GHz Signal—Free from Interference
Traditional analog wireless systems are plagued by interference from TV broadcasts, white space devices and other sources. Relay G10 operates in the 2.4GHz band, so there’s no danger of these external sources wreaking havoc with your signal. Encoded DCL (Digital Channel Lock) technology distinguishes your Relay G10 audio from other signals—including WiFi—ensuring the integrity of your signal.
License-free, Worldwide
If you’re confused by the license fees required to operate an analog wireless system, don’t worry—Line 6 digital wireless systems eliminate that need. Relay G10 is fully FCC compliant and operates license free worldwide, from Hollywood to Tokyo.
