Answer:	It will clamp down on it but the jaws are designed with a V groove and both have a small piece of rubber to absorb vibration from a conga rim. Whether it will remain without falling off I would doubt, the throat of the clamps just isn't deep enough in my opinion. G reat clamp for what it's meant for but not for your application. Sorry.
Question:	What does red lights flashing mean
Answer:	It does not look as though it would work on a rope-tuned djembe. There is not enough of a collar for it to attach. I used it on a Remo mondo djembe which was lug tuned. That worked well. Let me know if you have any other questions.
