Answer:	I haven't used the Audio Technica, but my akg perception 220 records my vibraphone nearly as well as the akg c-414 that I used to own. And the c-414 is much more expensive. I'm very pleased with the 220.

This is a purely analog device, and it connects via an XLR connection so you'll need an audio interface of some sort which supports XLR devices. As this is a condenser microphone, you'll need an audio interface which can also supply phantom power. A lot of simple cables which purport to connect XLR devices via USB don't supply any phantom power, so beware.

Answer:	First of all, the AKG P120 is a condenser microphone so it requires +48V to operate. Computers and laptops do not supply sufficient phantom power for condenser mics. We recommend getting an audio interface, mixer, or mic preamp that supplies +48V phantom power and can be connected to you Macbook's port.
