Answer:	Hi and great question! With the foam part covering the mic, there really is no way to completely sterilize it. I have taken off the foam, sprayed down the entire unit with lysol and let air dry. I've also sprayed the foam covering part separately and let that dry before putting it back on the mic. However, knowing that it's not 100%, I've done 2 things: 1. I dedicate each amplifier to only one person. In other words, no sharing! But I still want the option to replace the foam covering if needed so.. 2. I've ordered replacement foam covers online. Just to let you know my story, I am a board certified and licensed music therapist. I use these during music therapy outdoor groups when I have to be very socially distanced from the folks I'm working with. I actually put the microphone UNDER a surgical style mask (yes it works!) and the microphone rests on my chin. It does get very sweaty, though..hence the reason I am trying to change out the foam intermittently. I hope this helps in some small way. The unit itself works great and really helps me be heard!

Answer:	My dad is 97 and doesn’t wear hearing aids and is really hard of hearing so we sit beside his bed and talk directly into the microphone at a volume of 5 which is half way to top volume of 10. The cord isn’t very long so you would have to sit it in your lap. I would think an earpiece like the hunters use in the woods to hear deer would work better. They are recommending these ear pieces to women when jogging to hear people in the woods and behind them.

Answer:	I have the Ultra mobel w/ behind the ear phonrs. (I can no longer drive the distance to my HA audiologist, & lost one, & he suggested the Pocketalker as a temporary solution. It works better than the hearins aids did!) As to cocleag implants, I suggest consult w/ a GOOG audiologist (not 1 w/ agenda of selling you their brand of hearing aids). There are some bone contact hearing devices that might be better for you, but am not sure. My hearing required the best HAs available at the ime (8 yrs ago), and coclear was the next step. But the "Talker" works really well for me. The mic works best at 8-10 inched, DIRECTLY pointed at the sound source, with more distant sounds not well heard by me. Bite the bullet and see a professional audiometrist (Medicare and your secondary insurance should pay all or most of the costs) and see if you qualify for properly fitted hearing aids customized to your particular needs. Sorry; I know what you're going through. I'm a senior citizen with a 94 year old mother whose hearing aids are getting less effective every year.
