Answer:	My S.O. snores rather loud and I simply use ear plugs (there are actually several varieties out there that reduce 34db as well) so I can comfortably move around as needed. I wouldn't get these for sleeping.
Question:	Is there any protection if the batteries die on you in the field/range? I.E. What happens to noises above the 82dB range with no batteries
Answer:	They were very comfortable wearing them for 8-10 hrs a day for about 6 months. Around that time I noticed they started to become very uncomfortable. Turns out the bottom half of the cushions go from very soft when new to very hard due to skin oils. I found a 3M manufacturer with this explanation. Can't imagine why this sort of defect hasn't been resolved for ear muffs in general, but since I have to wear them to continue working from home with toddlers I'll just be ordering another pair and try to keep them a little cleaner I guess. Maybe that will extend their life before I have to replace them.

Answer:	Yes, greatly-muffled sound but you'll still hear, especially loud and abrasive noises. You'll still be able to hear the smoke detector going off, etc.

Answer:	Electronic retailers like Best Buy should have these for sale. Just bring in the old one to make sure you get the right size.
Question:	would it work in a church at a distance of about 15 feet from pulpit
Answer:	My dad is 97 and doesn’t wear hearing aids and is really hard of hearing so we sit beside his bed and talk directly into the microphone at a volume of 5 which is half way to top volume of 10. The cord isn’t very long so you would have to sit it in your lap. I would think an earpiece like the hunters use in the woods to hear deer would work better. They are recommending these ear pieces to women when jogging to hear people in the woods and behind them.
Question:	I. Have cochlear implant&hearing aid, music sounds "tinny/metallic" , wll this device improve tonal quality
Answer:	I have the Ultra mobel w/ behind the ear phonrs. (I can no longer drive the distance to my HA audiologist, & lost one, & he suggested the Pocketalker as a temporary solution. It works better than the hearins aids did!) As to cocleag implants, I suggest consult w/ a GOOG audiologist (not 1 w/ agenda of selling you their brand of hearing aids). There are some bone contact hearing devices that might be better for you, but am not sure. My hearing required the best HAs available at the ime (8 yrs ago), and coclear was the next step. But the "Talker" works really well for me. The mic works best at 8-10 inched, DIRECTLY pointed at the sound source, with more distant sounds not well heard by me. When I turn up the volume, a buzzing (which I can't hear" makes distracting noise to others. Best of luck to you, and Prayers for your problem!
Question:	Can I use an external microphone with a longer cord
Answer:	Yes you can. I purchased the Olympus ME-52W microphone with the PockeTalker and then bought a longer cord from a local supplier. Make sure the cord is male- to- female not male-to-male. I would think any 3.5 mono mic. would work. You may also need a male to female or female to female jack. Hope this helps.
