User questions & answers

Question: Would this speaker be ideal for home karaokee for a room size 15'x
Answer: It has combo inputs, so you shouldn't need an adapter at all to use a 1/4" mono cable as your input.
Question: What kind of a adapter would I need to quarter inch mono cable
Answer: Because it is a stereo signal and a mono jack the signal gets messed up. You need a 1/8th inch (headphone jack) to DUAL mono 1/4 inch. Plug those into inputs 1 and 2 and turn the channels up equally. Then it will sound fine.
Question: I tried plugging in my phone with a 1/4inch trs to 1/8 inch aux cord and it sounded awful as if the music i was playing was mono..how can i fix this
Answer: No, it is not battery-powered.
Question: Is it battery powered
Answer: You can plug anything you'd like into re 205, but I wouldn't recommend using it for a bass amp. Could be used as a low power practice amp.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the cabinet make out of? Plastic or dense cardboard
Answer: No, it is passive, and receives its power from an amplifier via a Speak-on connection. If your amplifier only has a 1/4" jack, you can buy a cable that has a 1/4" jack into amplifier and Speakon cnx on the other end. I'm out of town at the moment, don't recall if it's M or F.
Question: Is this an active speaker
Answer: This is a powered speaker that sits on the floor, not on a stand. It is tilted at an angle to direct the sound up and out, which makes it useful by design for any musician or singer, or subgroups of same on stage, to hear their output without using headphones, and is powerful enough to cut through the volume of the main speakers. This does not mean its use is limited to that purpose; it can be directed to the audience instead of the performers with the intent of serving in place of generally larger main speakers in smaller venues, whether inside or outside. Because this particular speaker is self-powered rather than being powered by a separate amplifier, its output volume can be controlled right at the unit or in conjunction with a separate mixer and/or DI box. It should not be hooked up on a powered circuit from a separate amplifier. Most decent amplifiers have both powered amplified and unamplified terminals, which use different types of speaker cables. Make sure you understand the three basic types: instrument cables, unpowered speaker and powered speaker, as they are all constructed differently and generally should not be interchanged.
Question: what is the purpose of a floor monitor? If it is for singer to hear ones self while karaoke how do you contol it
Answer: Obviously wrong product description, the points next to the pic are correct as stated.Professional 800-Watt 2-Way floor monitor (200 Watts Continuous / 800 Watts Peak Power)Exceptional sound quality, wide frequency bandwidth and dynamic rangeExtremely powerful 12'' long-excursion driver provides incredibly deep bass and acoustic powerProprietary 1.75'' titanium-diaphragm compression driver for exceptional high-frequency reproductionProprietary horn design for ultra-wide sound dispersion
Question: I'm confused, according to Behringer the VP1220F is a floor monitor with 12" woofer and 1.75" tweet. This product page talks about the VS
Answer: In a small room, you will experience feedback noise when your volume is high because the sound will easily bounce from walls and ceiling and feedback to the microphone. When I moved to a larger area, feedback noise did not appear even at max. volume. So volume level needs to be adjusted depending on the area you are using. I love this thing!!

User questions & answers

Question: Can I use a electric Bass Guitar
Answer: I'm still confused about this too.At the back of the speaker, below the power switch, it says this:100-240V ~ 50/60Hz 180WFUSE: T 3.15A H 250VBut on the box there is a range of voltages listed (100 V, 120 V, 220 V, 230 V, 240 V) and there's a sticker beside 120 V, and a bar code and number beside it. So maybe the manufacturer produces various versions of this speaker with different voltages? And this particular one I have is 120 V?I checked the manual and under power supply / voltage (fuses) it lists the following info:USA/Canada: 120 V~, 60 Hz (T3.15A H 250 V)UK/Australia: 240 V~, 50 Hz (T3.15A H 250 V)Europe: 230 V~, 50 Hz (T3.15A H 250 V)Japan: 100 V~, 50/60 Hz (T3.15A H 250 V)Power consumption: max. 180 WattsMains connection: Standard IEC receptableDoes that mean they sell different versions of this speaker model depending on the region? I don't know. I emailed Behringer to ask.
Question: Can this be easily used in Australia with 240v power supply? What would I need
Answer: You have to do that through the rear, all the connections from the front is input based, so that you can connect your line in, be it a microphone, iPod or media player but from the rear, there are two cannon connections, one is designed as a line-out and the second is for looping through a couple of them together, just incase you have a few units to be used all at the same time. So whichever device, you'll love to capture the audio output with, just make sure it has a cable interface with a basic 3pin cannon plug connector, then you connect it to the line-out (not the second connector as that is an input only for looping multiple units together) then the signal will be recorded sweetly. If you are using multiple speakers maybe like 3 or 4 units looped together, then you must connect the recorder to the last speaker box in the loop as the line-out will be free for tethering any recorder. I hope this helps!
Question: How would I hook up a hard disc recorder for recording thru this
Answer: Not that we could find. There were a couple of soft cases at about $80+ each that claimed to fit them. But there was nothing nothing that would suit our purpose - we needed something pretty robust because we ship our units to events with UPS Ground. We purchased four of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CBY2EIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 and added a quick and dirty customized foam interior to protect the speaker and accommodate the wireless mike system and amp connecting cable etc. We found that we should have added reinforcing tape around the top of the cases to cover and strengthen the hinge areas. We actually use the amp within the box with the box on its side and the lid open. One of the staff picked a unit up by grabbing the lid and it caused the case to split slightly down the side of the hinge. Heavy-duty reinforced tape fixed the problem and we subsequently added the reinforcement to all the boxes. So far so good. The units have survived a return UPS trip from NH to TX and look to be in good shape and the amps etc. were all in good shape. For shipping we tape around the body so the units can't come open. Been very impressed by the speaker system itself. More than adequate for presentations in 200+ seat rooms. In a 100+ seater we have to drop the volume right down.
Question: Is there some type of carrying case available for the unit
Answer: No, they mount directly on standard speaker stands.

EUROLIVE B205D

The ultra-compact B205D packs 150 Watts of amazing Class-D sound into a speaker system so light, you can mount it on a mic stand and aim it right at your ears – for the perfect personal monitor. But don’t let the small size fool you – the B205D cranks out truckloads of high-quality sound; more than enough to serve as a PA system for your more intimate gigs and meetings – and it comes packed with features that will simply blow you away.

The Secret to Amazing Sound

Thanks to our revolutionary Class-D amplifier technology and internal switch-mode power supplies, not only does the B205D sound incredible, but it weighs considerably less than most competing active loudspeakers. The state-of-the-art amplifications system pumps out 150 of the cleanest, punchiest Watts you’ve ever heard, and you can link additional active loudspeaker systems via the handy Thru socket. The built-in 3-channel mixer accepts XLR, TRS and RCA inputs, plus channel 1 features a switchable instrument-ready input – no DI required! A dedicated 3-band EQ (Low/Mid/High) provides simple, yet effective tonal control.

Put the Sound Where You Want It

Space limitations often make it impossible to place full-sized monitor wedges where they can do the most good – and passive monitors require lots of external amplifiers and processing gear to function properly. All this adds up to even more gear to move, and if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can easily damage passive monitors by applying too much, or worse, too little power to them. With the B205D we’ve taken all the guesswork out, giving each loudspeaker its own 150-Watt, Class-D amplifier specifically designed as the perfect mate for the custom-engineered 5.25" neodymium driver.

Custom-Engineered Drivers

Let’s face it; the drivers (otherwise known as speakers) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear. So when it comes to ours, we don’t cut any corners. While some of our competitors outsource theirs, we custom-design and build our speakers from scratch. We wind our own voice coils, process the paper pulp into cones and even machine our own speaker back plates and frames. This enables us to control the quality, keep production costs down and frankly, to make better components. The premium-grade, full-range 5.25" neodymium driver was designed specifically, and optimized solely for use in the B205D.

Value

The EUROLIVE B205D is the ideal PA/monitor system solution for those occasions calling for high-quality sound – with minimal gear. We dare you to compare the B205D to the competition for sound quality, for its professional features – and for its amazingly affordable price.

User questions & answers

Question: Would you recommend for outdoor movies
Answer: Any Bluetooth device will work with this speaker. From your cell phone to your lap top. USB.....ehhhhhhhh That doesn't really matter. It's a USB cabled device. If you are looking to Bluetooth more than on device to this speaker I advise against it. (ie a separate Bluetooth in addition to the built in Bluetooth) The built in Bluetooth range is better than 75 feet. DO NOT BUY THE WIRELESS MICROPHONE FOR THIS SPEAKER!!!! Go spend a little more money and buy a good wireless microphone. Or if you prefer a wired mic, get good mic cables. The $10 specials will go bad with no warning and for no reason.
Question: Whats the best usb bluetooth works best with this speaker
Answer: Not sure about the experience of others, but I’ve had zero issues with the two I own. I do mobile DJing at sporting events and choose these since they are inexpensive and they sound good for the price. Are the high end, no. But for active speakers, I am satisfied.
Question: Is this an active speaker behringer b15w
Answer: No, only the Behringer wireless mics work with the USB port.
Question: Can I play Mp3 media via the usb port
Answer: To be honest it would be more than ideal, a room that small would not need a speaker this large.

User questions & answers

Question: Has anyone tried using a USB mic with this
Answer: Yes and no. We've used it for vocals in a band that did many different formats. More as a monitor than a amp though. It's loud, but it's not massively loud.
Question: Has anyone used this for vocals in an R&B band and if so how did it perform
Answer: Yes, standard power cord like a desktop computer or any other piece of sound equipment (3 prong grounded). You can play audio with a flash drive through the USB plug OR you can plug an mp3 player (or laptop, phone, etc) into the "CD INPUT" using a 3.5mm to stereo rca cable (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=3.5mm+to+rca&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3A3.5mm+to+rca)Hope that helps! It's a nice speaker (best of all it's super portable). You can also save a few bucks and buy the Behringer EUROLIVE B205D. It's the same 150 watts only in a 5.5inch speaker, no usb input (if you don't plan on using that!) and 2 XLR-1/4" inputs instead of 3.
Question: Does this have a standard power cord that plugs into the wall? Can you hook an external mp3 player up to it easily? HOw is that done
Answer: I checked both guitar center and amazon. make sure to check the warranty prices
Question: How do I buy it
Answer: Yes. You need the patch chords that should come with it. We transferred it easily to the TV.

User questions & answers

Question: I hook this up to my Yamaha amp, with two speakers. Karaoke gig. It wants to hum, squeal, whine, become overpowering. How can I fix/control this
Answer: just take your mono output on the keyboard and plug right into the 1/4 input on the monitor and your ready to go. You can use the Output if you need to run a line to the main mixer.
Question: What is the best way to connect it to an instrument like keyboard to be specific to get the best sound
Answer: I send signal from a mic and a guitar thru a mixer. I don't understand how would you plug in separate source. I use this unit as a monitor and it is fantastic. Love it!!!!
Question: Would a signal coming in through the XLR mic input carry both a mic and mp3 signal coming from a separate source
Answer: They have a class A amp with minimal ventilation, so they will definitely get warm/hot. Class D based monitors with this feature set will add another hundred or so to the price. I've left mine on for ~36 hours (weekends) in my garage a few times now - they definitely heat up but I haven't had any failures. I also gig with this, so overall I'd say they hold up pretty well.
Question: How hot should the amp portion of this monitor get? I used it for a 2-hour band rehearsal for vocals, and it felt quite warm to the touch
Answer: Yes, each has a built in amp, multiple inputs and EQ settings. I have four and use them at our community theatre. They rock for the price.

Triumphant Transducers

Every stitch of these loudspeakers is built to deliver, but the fact is that their transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part you actually hear. While some manufacturers are okay with putting off-the-shelf transducers in their boxes, we custom-design and build ours from scratch. Not only do we wind our own voice coils, we grow the trees that are processed into the paper pulp that becomes the cones. We even machine the frames and backplates. BEHRINGER's quality is truly under control.

Big Sound, Lightweight, Low Price

Big here, small there, lots of this, light on that--everyone's got their preferences, but the EUROLIVE B215XL has proportions we can all agree upon. These loudspeakers pack a clean, punchy wallop (and can handle up to 1000 Watts), they are easy to lift by their recessed handles (38.7 lbs) and are available at insanely low prices. Who wouldn't want to hook up with one of these beauties?

Stand-Mountable

The B215XL is perfect either as part of a PA system or as an onstage monitor. If the situation calls for a PA, mount the speakers on stands via the 35mm pole socket. From there, send a line from the MAIN OUT of a mixer (such as a XENYX 1202FX) to a power amplifier (like the EUROPOWER EP1500). Finally, attach B215XL to each of the amp's outputs. These loudspeakers have inputs for both professional speaker cable and 1/4-inch cable. Because these loudspeakers have two parallel inputs, you can connect up to two of them to any channel on a power amp.

But they don't have to be confined to an upright position. Just lay them on their sides for use as a floor monitor. You'll find that they tilt to the ideal angle for onstage monitor wedge applications.

Choose White, Black, on or off the Wall...

User questions & answers

Question: are these self amplified with XLR inputs
Answer: no these are passive, non-powered speakers
Question: Are these bluetooth capable
Answer: I don't think these speakers were made to be hung, they are pretty heavy (approx. 40-45 lbs.). I only place them on the floors, very sturdy shelves or Heavy Duty Tri pod speaker stands. There's really nothing to hang up with except two built in carry handles on both sides in the back. See the back picture of the Behringer Eurolive B215D speaker. Maybe you could get your own idea on how you want to hang a 45 lb speaker. If I was to really hang this speaker, I probably use a good heavy rope and just hang up from the handles. Good luck.
Question: What would I order to hang them from a ceiling, and do you have the hardware? I can order through Amazon? or
Answer: It's not a powered speaker; you have to connect your iPhone to a mixer and then to an amplifier.
Question: Why is it when i use ¼'' to 3.5mm connector to connect the speaker to my iPhone, the sound is so low even when I max volume
Answer: Yes it does

User questions & answers

Question: Is there a way to control remotely the mp3 player? i tried connecting an mp3 player to the usb port, but i can only play the songs from the PA
Answer: shure you can, just nead a 3.5 to 1/4 mono cable male or 3.5 to 3.5 male and adaptor to 1/4 mono
Question: can I plug my Ipad or laptop to play and what kind of wire do I need
Answer: If you want to run a stereo setup, you're going to have to run from your source with two cables. Depending on what your source audio is, (mp3 player, mixing console, cd or, some other other player ),you will need to use audio cables that terminate with 1/4 inch mono plugs on the speaker side, and the source side must have the male plug ,or plugs, necessary to connect to the audio source player. Hope this helps.
Question: What cable do I need to connect two of these speakers for stereo sound
Answer: No
Question: i live in europe, so does it support 230V
Answer: Sorry, I have not used the USB mic.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the impedance of this speaker
Answer: 8ohms
Question: what cable do you use to hook speakers up to receiver
Answer: This speaker has both 1/4" trs and speak on connectors
Question: can you run these as full range speakers
Answer: If you have a power that is compatible with the watts of the speaker, you can do it. And the driver that the speaker has is 1.5" but is preferable that you change it for a 2" driver.
Question: Which speaker performs better, this one or the behringer b215xl
Answer: That would depend on what you are looking for. This speaker has a wider range of tone and is made with wood which will give you a richer, deeper tone. The B215 is made of plastic. Depending on how much bass you require, both speakers would require subwoofers for chest thumping bass. However, as a single full range speaker the VP1520 will have a better sound.

User questions & answers

Question: Do you need to purchase additional mounting brackets to mount these on speaker stands
Answer: Yes they do come with speaker cables and a microphone and a microphone cable.
Question: Speaker cable comes with unit
Answer: You need powered monitors. My understanding is there is no way to send power to the MON OUT jacks on this system...active monitors only.
Question: can i use passive monitors in MON OUT jacks
Answer: Yes, this is the cable I used to do it and it makes the sound infinitely better with the sub: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005298L46/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Question: Can i add this behringer subwoofer to this system? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b00e87omnc
Answer: Yes, you likely can, because the wireless mic uses USB, not Bluetooth as it seems to be hinted, the mic comes with a USB adapter ULM300D. I have yet to use Bluetooth, so far I used the MP3 wired input with 2 USB microphones ULM200D. Apparently, what you may not have is 3 mic then, unless there is a 3 input USB adapter available or maybe if a USB hub can accept and process ULM200D and ULM300D at the same time. I have not tried that yet either. I am very pleased with this active loudspeaker. We had it on the street last weekend and you can hear it over 5 blocks away and the quality of the sound is excellent. No noise. Just watch for the proximity of the mic when you turn the volume high, there will be some Larsen effect as it is common with unwanted feedback.

Put the Sound Where You Want It Space limitations often make it impossible to place full-sized monitor wedges where they can do the most good – and passive monitors require lots of external amplifiers and processing gear to function properly. With the B205D we’ve taken all the guesswork out, giving each loudspeaker its own 150-Watt, Class-D amplifier specifically designed as the perfect mate for the custom-engineered 5.25" neodymium driver.
