Use the tuning hammer to tune the tine, until the note in the tuner matches the default note and the pointer directing to the center position.

Question:	Will it survive in a very dry climate? May it be treated with oil to prevent drying out
Answer:	It is pretty flexible and I don't feel it's overstuffed at all. I took it up to my sons home to use as part of my Halloween costume and my grandson fell in love with it so it stayed there permanently :-). The new puppy loves it too so I'm not sure how long of a life it's going to have!

Answer:	No there is no real mouth. The tongue comes out from a seam that separates the upper head color from the lower jaw color.

Answer:	I’m sorry, we already cut the tag off. From what I gathered from their website, the headquarters for Wild Republic are in Ohio. But I’m not sure where they are manufactured. Answer:	The keys are silver. Because of the light and shooting angle, you can't distinguish the color of the keys. We are very sorry about that. The keys are made of ore steel bars and polished smoothly to protect your nails. The tines of the keys are engraved with notes which are not easy to fall off.

Answer:	I am a musician, and I think if they are old enough to learn the piano, they should be able to play this. I would suggest perhaps nine or 10 years old. They should be able to read music and this is a little trickier than the piano because the notes are not next to each other, the scale goes left finger right finger, left finger right finger up the scale like that

How to Paste Stickers?

We usually paste color stickers on the keys to make it easier to find the keys quickly when reading the music notation of Kalimba. First, you can paste a color sticker on the longest key in the middle, and then paste another color sticker on the keys every two keys. You can also label your Kalimba any way you like.

Hold and Play Kalimba

Hold the Kalimba in both hands and pluck the keys with the nails of thumb (as shown in the picture). It is recommended that the length of your nails be 2-3 mm, and the proper strength and angle when playing the thumb piano can make the sounds clean. As you become familiar with the position of the Kalimba keys, you can play some complex but more wonderful songs with some playing techniques, such as double-tone or glissando playing different keys at the same time to make sounds.

Using the Glissando to Play Chords

The glissando is a technique by which you pluck several keys at once to make a chord. Compared with other musical instruments, Kalimba is set up to play chords nicely and easily. Any 3 adjacent tines will play a wonderful triad chord - we use the nail slides through the thumb piano keys to make a sound. Furthermore, a chord produced by a glissando will ring for several seconds, which will enable you to play a melody on the other keys, and produce some gentle harmony. This makes beautiful music, simply.

Wah-wah Performance

Kalimba has a main sound hole and two auxiliary sound holes. When you play, you can press your thumb into the main sound hole, which feels like you want to push the sound back, or use two middle fingers to shake on the back auxiliary sound holes to produce a Wah-wah sound. You can even make three holes work together at the same time, and the wah effect will be more obvious.

What is a kalimba thumb piano

The thumb piano(or "mbira" in English Name: mbira) is a kind of African national musical instrument with national characteristics. In different African countries, the thumb instrument has different names. For example, Kalimba is the name of the instrument in Kenya. In Zimbabwe, it is called mbira. In Congo, it is called likembe. It also has the names of sanza and thumb piano. It gets its name mainly because it uses its thumb to move the thin pieces on the body (mainly made of wood and bamboo, and also made of metal in modern development).

The traditional kalimba thumb piano uses gourd to make a resonator.

It is only in recent years that the kalimba thumb piano has become popular, and the relevant music scores are easy to find on the Internet.

Answer:	I can ship it out in morning so not sure why it says that
Question:	What are the red and green stickers used for
Answer:	I would not wash it. It is really cute but within a week the seam was worn and there was a hole in it which I ended up mending. My grand daughter did not play roughly with the cuddlekins so I have to assume that the cuddlekin was not well sewn. I don't think it would survive a wash.
Question:	is this easy to pickup and learn songs
Answer:	I purchase the peacock for a 6 year old grandson. His teacher had one and he wanted one like it. He loves his Peacock. It looks like the photo beautiful. I would not give it to a baby or toddler. Maybe a little older I don't underestimate little one's thy work at stuff until thy pull it a-part. Might pull off the feathers on top and thy can choke on them.
Question:	Is the initial smell from the Kalimba the varnish? I’m highly sensitive to this
