Particularly useful is the way you can follow the lighted keys for either hand separately, and listen to how the piece is supposed to sound like whenever you want... when I was a kid I had eight very long years of private one-on-one piano lessons that yielded little more than screaming crying arguments with my parents on a regular basis. This keyboard took all that painful stuff away, and made the learning experience truly fun and even addictive! Naturally it takes a lot of time to learn, but when you want to do it because it's fun, learning it is a true pleasure. That said, perhaps you should amend your question with more information on the course that you have an eye on so others can more accurately tell you if this keyboard will be helpful for that specific course.

Answer:	Yes, it absolutely does work. I think the most important takeaway is that this is a reasonable enough price to figure out if you actually do want to learn and stick with it. The biggest value is the 30-day membership to the Simply Piano app. I was in the same boat as you and this keyboard + app had me reading music and playing with both hands in 2 days. I played the guitar over 20 years ago, but completely forgot how to read sheet music since then. I’m back to being able to read sheet music and looking to step up to a higher quality Yamaha keyboard. This was worth every penny to gain the confidence I needed to start down the path of learning to play.

Answer:	I’ve been using beyerdynamic dt880 pro with this - 250 ohm - it was a good pairing so much so I rather listen through my headphones rather than the speakers. I also paired this with the audio technica ws1100 and found a bit of hissing I think it’s because of the lower ohm rating. The beyerdynamic is what I use the most.

Answer:	You can either connect this keyboard to a computer with a USB cable (one side is the regular usb, the other side is an "A" still male end (the same as you would plug into a printer), or you can go out of the MIDI out with a midi cable into an Audio Interface that has a MIDI in slot. If you go straight out with a quarter inch cable into an audio interface you will receive the sounds from the keyboard and will have to edit it like a vocal mic.

Do the speakers turn off when the headphones are in use

Answer:

2 shelf speakers, about a 20 ft 2 cond wire from right to left speaker, a 120ac power cube and cables to provide power to the right speaker. A wireless remote control, and a manual. I believe that to be the entire list, but I may have missed something small. All of the electronics is in ghe right speaker. There are plugs on the right speaker to accept inputs from two audio inputs, spdif fiber, and coax audio. You can select between these inputs or bluetooth with buttons on the remote control, as well as mute or power on/off the speakers.
